Finished the game...got awesome goodies...now what?

Since I have pretty much done all that needs doing in PvE, I have decided i need to focus on PvP, and GvG..problem is I haveno idea where to begin. My ultimate goal would be to represent america and win/hold the favor of the gods.So any help/info/advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.Things i need to know includes( butnot limited to):
1.Warrior or Assassin or Monk PvP, GvG build

2.Where do i start to battle for the favor of the gods

3.Is it better to make a PVP character or use my already existing lvl 20s

4.Weapons.Armor?

As i have previously stated any help would be welcome and appreciated.Theres probably an existing guide here somewhere but i figured it would be easier if i just ask here =)

p.s.
If anyone wanna "tutor" me in game my IGN are:

Golds vain
Monk Quixote
Avi of the Sands

RE: Finished the game...got awesome goodies...now what?

I can answer #2. xD

You need to start at Hero's Ascent to be able to gain Favor of the gods. ^^

Well, as for number 3, I don't think it really matters. PvP characters are good, as you can easily make your buiilds with all th eunlocks yo uhave on your account.

Builds, for monk you should look at three common builds - Word of Healing + Heal Party - Spellbreaker + Infuse Health - Restore Condition + Prot, I don't know the builds but someone else might be able to help you.

Unless you have perfect weapons and armour and all the runes you would like it is better to use a PvP character and unlock the perfect mods.

RE: Finished the game...got awesome goodies...now what?

yeah i have perfect weapons. I am trying out a W/E build im doing from scratch and using Kanaxai's mallet. im also bringing an IDS/shield to hopefully trick the opposing party. a staff for spells that requires energy and a -5 energy focus to hide my energy. I guess im gonna go WOH build for my monk since im familiar with it.Assassin i dont know yet but im sure itll be fun. maybe A/R and work on my trappin' 'ssassin build lol. and oh yeah + cred for reply

If you play monk in gvg, a pve character would be better. With a pve character you can have more weapons and you can get different kinds of armor. When you get higher DP, replacing the piece of armor with the superior rune 2 an armor piece with a minor rune can help you alot. (+75 health)
I would also, if you have a pve monk, bring a + health armor set (again to counter the death penalty). You don't have to wear this armor during the entire game if you prefere another set.

Start on becoming a good monk, monk is the hardest job in the game, if you get that done you can play all characters with a little practise.

Didn't see assasins used for HA though.

oh, 1 last thing, please don't go IWAY ^^

My PvP Monkey

Playing a monk in PvP is really different than in PvE.

By all means bring your PvE characters, as long as they have max attributes (200/200)

One thing that I have noticed as a monk in PvP is that , at least for me, PvE builds just don't really work.

You have to diversify a little because the opposing team is going to want you dead fast.

My favorite PvP monk build is as follows:

Monk/Warrior

Aesthetic armor with +1 healing head tattoo
I use all the minor runes and SUPERIOR VIGOR
I carry the Wayward Wand with the healing req (from the end of Factions) and the Stoneheart.

In quick weapon slot 2 I have a -5 energy sword and a Malinons Shield {I use these when mesmers hex me with energy denial skills, often times these types of hexes end if your energy hits 0, by switching to this and then back I am basically negating this type of hex)

I use the following skills:

(Elite) Healing Hands - I usually save this for myself, it is a good skill to discourage pesky warriors.

Divine Intervention - It is a little trickier to use than heal other, but it is a great skill when one of the other monks in the group is in trouble.

Healing Breeze - The ever HoT spell, a lot of people say it is worthless in PvP, but I never leave home without it.

Aegis - this is expensive to use, but if you have 3 monks in your 8 man team, and they are all on TS and can take turns casting it so that it is always up, it is really worth it.

Reversal of Fortune - it is just a huge, sweet, cheap, fast recharging heal.

Ressurect - I know a lot of people say Rez Signet is the only way to go in PvP, but I stand by this choice. Classes that do not have monk can bring the soft rez, Our monks always carry a hard res.

Dwaynas Kiss - I have found that, for me, my energy pool simply will not keep up if I try to remove conditions and hexes. My primary focus in this build is to keep my allies standing, Dwaynas Kiss works well on a hexed ally that I have already slapped breeze and or divine intervention on. It is a big heal.

Sprint - The opposing teams usually hate me, this will take me out of harms way.
My attributes are as follows:

Healing 11 (+1 +1)
Divine Favor 10 (+1)
Protection 10 (+1)

I dunno how common or accepted this build is, but for me, PvE as a monk gets pretty stressy, It is rare that i am given the time to focus on healing in the same way I can in PvE. I am costantly trying to deal with knockdowns and cripples and hexes, and there is no "safe place" to run to once the battle is in full swing, because if I am out of the main aggro, then I am also to far from what is going on to do my job.

Generally I am in constant motion and when I have to stop an cast I need to basically rattle off some healing/mitigation stuff and then run around some more.

If someone is getting thier butt kicked, Divine intervention will buy them AND me a little time, normally as soon as I see the tell-tale hop in thier health bar I Reversal of Fortune , and if I can HH and/or Breeze on them. Those have the potential to be stripped or desecrated, so they have to be followed up with "real healing" Dwaynas Kiss is a big heal when someone has 2 enchants on them.......

My Ressurect does get interrupted a lot, but since all of our monks carry a hard rez, one of us almost always gets it off.....

Teamspeak or Vent or some from of Voice Communication is essential to this (and any other build) because communication via type is just worthless in battle.
