FYI - there is a temporary closure of the Vault of the Night chain and Tempest's Spine. It will last from Friday the 9th to Sat the 10th. Turbine says it's to fix some critical balance issues with the quests - and will try to have em up again asap.
Turbine's Offical Thread
Losing both raid-zones on a Friday night is hurtful - so I hope it's for a good reason. And, I hope that they really do get them reopened on time... I have a dragon-raid tomorrow. :)
Just wanted to pass on the news.

I'm wondering what the "in order to address a balance issue" is.

I know in some spots in VoN ( pt III in particular ), it was possible to fall through some of the world geometry, and your character would be in perpetual "freefall". You could not ever /death, since your character was falling. Logging out/logging in did not fix this problem... your character was stuck there till a GM could help put you back in the quest. There has been some reports of it happening in TS as well - but I've not talked to anyone who has had it occur to them.
This has happened to some of my guild-mates, and it's quite a problem. The GM fix-time has been approx 45 min when it's happened.
We think ( hope ) this is the fix.

Well that sounds like an EXCELLENT reason to shut down these dungeons.
