Corrupter Suggestions?

I have been thinking about rolling a Sonic/Sonic Corrupter. But before I spend countless hours getting him to a level high enough to get a real feel for him. I wanted to ask if anyone out there that has used this combo, could give me some insight on it. The other combo I was thinking about was Energy/Kinetics. Any suggestions?

Don't know much about the sonic/sonic build, but i've dabbled in the the Energy/Kinetics build. If you like to deal lots of damage and buff yourself and teammates, then this is the one for you. It doesn't supply a rez, but you can be a Brutes best friend in team play. Speed Boost on a Brute fighting a AV/Hero is the ultimate. Energy by itself deals lots of damage, add Kinetics with a power boost and it's just UBER! IMO that is :)

8) the sonic/sonic is a very very rare bread of Villain.. to this day I have not seen a single one.. post lvl 10..

the Sonic/ part is pretty high damage and the more you attack the more damage you do because of the -res effects..

the /Sonic secondary is Team orientated.. I think there are only 3 powers you can use to benefit your self form the 9 available.. not very solo friendly at all.. but very team friendly with its +res buffs.. and -res Debuffs..

the good thing about /sonic.. while your on a team most of your secondary is buffs or toggles so you can get it all set up and focus on your primary during battles.. in essence doing both at the same time which no other corrupter secondary can do besides maybe Ice..

Ahh the rare delight of a sonic/sonic cor, only ever seen one (incidently it was on CoH to).

Primary: qutie good damage, but the slowest to recharge out of all the cor sets (or so i belive) also the attacks all sound to simluar, which may give a sence or repitition.

Secondary: Nay bad for teaming, but theres better, people are more likly to pick up the secondary healers then these guys.

One more note, the noise sonic makes does my head in >_<

I think Ice actually has lower recharges, but I'm not certain.

Sonic isn't a bad set against villains with damage resistance (Longbow). On a team, a Sonic corrupter is great. The resistance debuffs work great in the PvP zone missions. If you can find a team to grind those, you should do well.

I have a Dark/Kin corr and it balances out awesomely. It's unique and awesome since it has the starting snipe power. You should try it it's really fun to play with.

I have heard radiation is good for cors, primarily because thers no resistant people to it (except maybe the strickens who suck anyway). Also it can penetrate peoples defences.

Also i looked into it Ron you are correct ice does appear to be slower

Thanks for the info everybody. I made my Sonic last night, but only got him to level 4. Unfortunately I got on a team that insisted on taking on missions 3 and 4 levels above 90% of the team. After the 3rd team wipe out, I just logged for the night. I will try to get a better feel for him again tonight.

Welcome to the wonderful world of bad PUTs! If you choose your teams wisely, you'll have better success (oh, and there is no shame in being the last villain standing...tis truely villainous to run while everyone wipes but you...lol).

Last man standing shows your power and experiance. Unless of course you were hiding during the onslaught, this shows your devious and cunning. But thats the good side of things, I almsot always solo at lower levels, gives me a better feel for the game!

I normally do as well. But I was invited so I accepted. Tonight will no doubt be a "/hide" night. Then I will be able to get a good feel for the toon.

hide, it is ever useful lol. I normally only start to team in my late teens unless i feel like taking on hundreds of people, which is less often then i should (and i wonder why i level slowly...)

IF u deside to take energy, i would not recommend kinetics. I say this because Energy is very good at a distace and kinetics heal is a close range. I would choose either Dark, Thermal, Rad. If u want to heal. personally i chose rad because the debuffs. Also if u do get energy can i recommend hover? The sniper comes at a low lvl and u can get hover at 6. its the perfect combo. Thats my 2 cents.

I fight from a distance so I don't take damage and since the kin heal does it's healing around the target, I can heal the brutes and stalkers on my team without putting myself in harms way. Plus your teammates will love Speed Boost. It speeds up the run, power recharge and endurance recharge. Some of my teammates even have "SB plz" as their war cry so I know when they need it.

You just have to develop tactics to play the different power sets. The above is how I play the kinetics powerset.

Never played a corurptor. How ever my friend Evil Lemons is a blaster. I know they are not exactly the same but they are pretty darn close. He is a fire/devices blaster. Fire is completely uber pwnage in damage. Traps is a good buff/debuff set. The traps kinda help make the damage even higher and some traps help you and your team mates by buffs.

Well, now that we are talking AR....I made a AR/DM Corrupter and I am liking that combination. I never knew that AR packed such a punch. It has knockback, AoE and some good damage. Couple that with the healing from DM and the holds, debuffs and you have a party going on.

I ran solo last night with my Sonic/Sonic for a few missions, and he rocks. I got him to level 6 and Sonic Blast does crazy damage. The Sonic Resonance seems to have some good Buffs/Debuffs, but I'm not high enough yet to get a good feel for them. Tonight I plan on teaming and trying out the Resonance side of the house.

Yeah, that tends to get a little tedious to say the least...however, I think I'll still play around to see how far I can get with it. Seeing I never took a blaster/Corr past lvl 36, this should be interesting to see just how much playtime he gets...lol.

I dare say cors are probably my best archtype (which sucks cause i suck) but i found energy/kinetics quite a good combo
