Hey i have a question about my loading time. my loading time takes around 5 mins and i was wondering if getting more RAM is the best thing to do to get the loading time faster?

Hm, I have 1GB too, & my speed is quite fast, but a thing that makes mine fast is if I join servers that have a green bar beside them, e.g: 64 Bit servers & Penguin Servers. Try joining one of those to see if it's any better.

Get another 512Mb of RAM atleast and you'll be ok.

Loading times depend on a lot of things, including your hard drive speed, processor speed and non-physcial things, such as your disk defragmentation. Ram will help you, but it is not an all-inclusive fix.
As far as your ram goes, just use the two 1GB sticks and discard the 512 stick. It will slow you down with the 512 stick. If you have a dual channel ram motherboard, pay attention to which sticks go where. Generally for dual channel boards use like colors (the mounts for your ram) which is usually every other slot.

I only have a GIG of RAM and i load within a minute or two. The only problem i have with BF2 is the time taken to update my account with the awards i earn, points etc. Apart form that, everything is all good. :D

I have 1 Gig ram and reload time in totaly ok But 2 gig is even better not only for reload time but for much more
