Was going to save this til later, but Rainah, Phase, Nak and I have come up with some funky names.
I'm not going to reveal them all, but they are there on the SG list for you to see.

I hope that you like them and Im sorry that we didn't put it out to vote, but certain things need to be done and filled in so this one we did for the SG.
Advancement within the SG will get posted at a later date.
Please bear with us while we do our best to keep the ball rolling. We are loving this as much as you are. Without the members of the community taking this SG idea into their hearts, we wouldn't have a SG.
Thank you one and all, member and staffer for giving this crazy idea life. My one regret is that it can't be shared with Hobsnob, Xtreme Hippy, mbkiduk and Dark Side, my EU buddies whom I am neglecting badly.
I'd like to offer them honourary membership of the SG because without them, I'd have given up when my debt got too high to get rid of and I wouldn't have a SG like the Shades Of Vengeance.

One thing is certain - credability ratings will not determine ranks. All promotions within the SG will be in game based.
Don't have any guidelines as yet, at the moment the COH site staffers are discussing promotion prospects.
Be good. play hard. help each other and other non sg members.
Get out there and make it seen that gameamp isn't just a site, its a SG force to be reckoned with.

Me and the wife are planning on joining the GA on triumph soon, not sure what ATs we wanna be. I'm 9 bars from 50. If I was 50, I'd come in as a PB, cuz I don't have one of them yet (Brim says ashamedly after playing this game for about a year and a half...)

I have a few questions and concerns..
Who is making these decisions ? I know I haven't voted or anything.. I haven't seen any discussion at all. One minute we wouldn't have a group without the site community, and the next, site involvement is irrelevent.. huh ?
If the site and the group are mutually exclusive ;
staffers shouldn't be automatically in charge.. we should be voting as a group
people shouldn't be neglected because they can't play all the time, and thus not get a chance to participate in all of the things people are getting promoted for.. I keep seeing all these things posted about Paladin and Positron and this happened and that.. when did all this go down ? I t would have been nice to know about..
there should be a schedule of when leaders will be on so that people can actually try and make arrangements.. I know I have yet to be on and find any leaders at all ( well, one time obviously )..

as a non-staffer, i can assure there is zero mongering going on in this SG.
the site and the SG are not mutually exclusive. everyone in the SG is registered on the site and converses in the forums, obviously some more than others, but some have more time.
since the SG is based on the site, and staffers are in charge of the site, it seems natural that they are in charge of the SG. now all they have really been in charge of thus far is inviting people to the SG. it's not like they are the leaders for every team and boss people around. heck, for some reason, hardly anyone here likes to have the star and they always want to pass it to me.
as far as paladin and positron:
whenever a SG event happens with the paladin, its usually someone just farting around in KR and sees it then gets on the SG channel first and lets everyone else know and we usually end up on the same team because we are 90% the first ones at the scene of the crime.
as for posi, electro just asked one day in a post if anyone would be interested. i said the same thing but a different day i would try it with other people. those were just occurances of individuals make a post and asking for help/asking if there was any interest in doing it.
today is the first event that the staffers have gotten together and planned. it's not mandatory to go, but firespray keeps tell me i'm going to love it so i'm jonesin' right now. i wish he would stop toying wiht my emotions...:*(

Actually the ranking in the SG is based on how helpful and active people are in the SG. Not everyone from the site is in the SG so it wouldn't really be fair to say if you have a lot of credit, you get rank. We want people who contribute to the SG to have rank. Not just those that contribute to the site.
Of course I'm no officer in the SG, just a regular ole member.

initial SG name: firespray gave us a chance for suggestions. then he gave us a time period to voice opinions. then he counted the votes and selected the winning title.
tonight's event: someone's got to set something up at one point or another. i'm sure if you wanted to host an event or set something up, no one would have a problem with it. the staff are staffers because they set aside personal time to take care of the site, including the SG. granted, i have no RL right now (work a lot and online grad school takes up a ton of time) and am on the site and in-game a ton, but i can't commit time to do work on the site and do not wish to be staff.
rank names, motto, base design: does it really matter what these are? i dont care if my rank is spandex stuffer, ampy's chosen or poo on stateman's shoe, that's not going to stop me from playing and helping other ampers. if the staff picked a stupid motto, i sure as heck would tell them its dumb. voice your opinion son! stand up and be heard! take it to the man! screw whitey!
costumes: the SG CC on the site. we submit ideas. we vote. we choose what it will be.
SG settings: you can't allow everyone access to everything. i don't know the first thing about base building, but i would like to tinker around with one. there is a small chance i'd even add a thing her or there or spraypaint my name on the wall if i could.
individual's rankings: again, does it really matter? whether i was top dog or shoe poo, i'm still going to play.
the ball is in your court twiz! let me have it! :)

Sure it does ! If we're Heroes, then we need to be champions of democracy, right down to specifics of the SG. Especially rank names.. we'll get back to that though.

Ranks and motto could have been put down as 'on hold' until they could be voted on..

Why not ? Isn't that the point ? What makes anyone more eligible than others to utilize some aspect of the base ? Even more not fair for those people that can't even get into it.
Now, back to ranks.. Here's a collection of comments on the subject ;

So, yes, it matters, otherwise why have them ? We wouldn't have a group without the community, yet the standing in the community is pointless ? once again, if the site and the group are not exclusive, then your standing in the community should also play into your standing in the group. Those people have done a lot. We wouldn't have tips, hints, missions, and guides to make Sg life easier if it weren't for their efforts.. That's not just site contribution, that's Sg contribution.. I think that eg. 10347 or 2854 credibility does give you more right to be ranked higher. Otherwise, we're saying that you have to be a player and not a community supporter to get anywhere.. Play a lot and get rewarded, do a lot of work in support of peoples ability to play and forget it, you're nothing.. Just because not everyone on the site is in the group shouldn't matter, that would be by their choice, so it is fair if you have cred you get recognized for it.
If it's not about the ranks, then maybe there shouldn't be any.. have a staff rank and a player rank, and that's it.
My thoughts on a ranking system ;
I would think that the top 5 or 10 cred holders should be awarded a rank. As I said, they have contributed to the success of the SG, wether it's in-game or through the work they've submitted. These people are obviously responsible and know how to play, or they wouldn't be where they are. Why in the world would we not want them to be recognized in-group too ? I really don't understand this one.
In-game accomplishments should be recognized - I was given an idea for a pinned post to recognize rank holders and how they achived their rank - I'd really like to see that. This would be reflected by whatever promotion system is in development, which I hope people will get to comment on before it's implemented..
New members should obviously automatically come in at the low rank, then advance once they've hit a level or prestige contribution point.
Everyone else should be at level 2 until they meet requiremnts for levels 3 and 4..
So, that's my piece, sorry it took so long, had summer school..

OK reasons a lot of this was done undemocratically was because quite simply people wanted it then and there and we didn't have time to discuss every little thing in a committee.
I'm disheartened that you seem to think that I forced the name and the reason the other names were not announced was to retain some staff level admin control over the creation of a second gameamp SG when the time was right.
I worked my arse off behind the scenes trying to organise this with phase, to now have it torn down simply because someone thinks that his site credability rating affords him kudos in the gameamp SG.
If thats the way you want it then we'll vote on it, I'll scrap the funky little badge I asked death fetish to create to award members on promotions, I'll remove firespray and you can vote on who the leaders are and see if you are capable of running a 72 member SG with people being denied alts as they have not met the requirements of getting to 15th level and giving you hassle as they are not allowed in.
If you got a problem with me and the staff running it, just come out and say it. We're guiding it and keeping it under control. Same as we do on the site.
Just because sommat isnt to your liking maybe you should be more of an active member as it's them who are doing stuff, and it's the 'little people' with hardly any credability who are doing it. Im not going to award ranks out simply for a few screenshots and a few lines that constitute a guide when Im submitting 6 - 8 pages in word for an ongoing fan fic that gets twice the hits and half the credability, giving up my free time to moderate and make this a fun place, and giving up my time at night to get on, talk to you lot, make friends, have a laugh and wind up in bed at 2am most nights, busting my ass to make it fun for everyone and still deal with a real life where I have the following:
a good friend being killed last weekend
a landlord who announces he's selling the house and I have to find somewhere to live
a housemate who has been looking for somewhere else and neglected to tell me
a job that Im currently busting my ass to stay in
a best friend who's treating me like dirt at times and like gold others
an ex friend who is threatening me / stalking me
Now if you think you can deal with all that and still put on a smiley happy face on gameamp and play the game and make the damn sacrifices and then have to put up with the whines and moans that are coming out here when the majority of the SG and indeed the Alliance, seem perfectly happy.

most of everything was said and being as i am staff and i have that title in the sg woot but i can really careless it is a sg to team with others that know about the game and that i have grown with on the site...........if anyone thinks that they can do this better than fire and phase leave the sg and make your own and take it to the arena or whatever but i am tired of seeing the sg thread over run by negativity and for that matter if you dont like something that was done why did not help with all the votings on things that were done on site.....yes the UK folks should be involved also.......sorry about my thoughts but i felt as though they should be said so there and hope that does not effect gaming with yal

I'm sorry for your loss.
As a site administrator, was a rant really necessary ? I'm sorry your life has problems. My mom has not 1 but 2 eventually terminal medical conditions ! I don't get to spend but only a couple weekends this summer with her ! I have to go to summer school and so stay with a father I hate ! I have friends and an 'ex' that do the same thing !
I'm not gonna 'discuss' anything else. Nothing was supposed to be negative, only get some involvement going. Forget I said anything. i'm gonna go play WoW.
