So I'm considering this new Geforce card. Is CoH optimized for Nvidia?

Back when CoV came out, all the boxes for it had NVidea slapped all over it. At the same time, they released I6, which pretty much brought CoH up to speed on the same specs. I would say that the games definitely cater to NVidea.

Nvidia is your friend. Both of my home computers have Nvidia. Which card are you looking at?

I guess that's a yes. Since your question was answered already, here's my 2 cents. I prefer ATI personally. I have an Nvidia card right now though, because I wanted to have tried both. Never had any real issues with either ATI or Nvidia.

Ayep. Tis optimized for nVidia. Which really chaps my hide since I'm an ATI user. *fistshake* Why can't I have optimization tooooooo!
It doesn't hurt your graphics all that much though, but I do notice the game running a lot smoother on my laptop with the nVidia than on my desktop.

Well, I bought a ATI Radeon 9700 pro because it was only $50, but someone offered me a Geforce 6800 OC for $125. I looked it up online and it's easy to overclock through software to the level of the 6800 GT which gives it top performance based on the VGA charts at Tom's Hardware. I've been seriously considering buying the Geforce and selling the ATI. If it's optimized for Nvidia, even better :)

Lol, the optimization merely makes a difference.
Optimized or not, a good card will run it anyway.
I would never make something such influence a decision on what video card to get.
Just get what you prefer / find best or whatever, cause the optimization.... for one silly game (shhh, I know) really is neglible.

You must not know CoH very well to say that. CoH is just about the touchiest game on the market when it comes to video cards. It's as though the devs are assuming everyone in the world has the exact same card they do. They don't seem to test compatibility with other brands at all.
With other games, your statement may be true, but CoH just doesn't measure up when it comes to compatibility.

They've done free trials here and there, but they're kind of rare. Best thing to do is get on the PlayNC mailing list and sign up for free trials of their other games. They'll occasionally send out additional free trials or trials for other games.
For example, as a CoH member, I got an invite for their utterly worthless game with cars (tabula rasa?). Good thing it was a free trial because that game blew.
On the other hand, if you like super heroes, there's no way you'll be disappointed with CoH. If you want a good idea of what the game is like before playing, just post some questions here and read some game guides (like the one in my sig :)
