Hey guys, im new to this whole MMORPG thing so i may need some help at first. I've heard its a great community so im realy looking forward to it. Any general tips would be welcome. See you all in CoH real soon.

Welcome to the site! And more importantly welcome to your new addiction *grin*.
As for general tips... well the most important part is to have fun. If you start a character that you aren't enjoying, make another one of a different class. Find one that you enjoy.
Um... let's see... if you are playing CoH, make sure you go thru the tutorial in the beginning. It will help you immensely, it goes over all the basics that you will need to play.
And once you get in game, make sure you add gameamp.com to your chat channels, that way if you have any questions, or want a team, or well just want to chat, you can find all of us here.
If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask!

Seriously though, the "have fun and if you don't like your toon, make a new one" is a huge thing. I waited 26 levels before I finally decided that it was time to delete MY OWN NAMESAKE. First toon I ever deleted. All I can say is my "namesake" now a days ain't even my main toon but I love the game.
Jeni isn't kidding when she says use the tuturial as it helps with the basics. Howvere, more advance tips can be founf under our Guides, Tips, and Hints pages. The good things about this is they allow you to learn about team specific game play, in example, "HERDING". Herding is where the Tanker in your group will tell the team to stay behind while he runs into a room and grabs eveyone's attention and focuses it to himself. Then when he is ready, eveyone else comes in and slaughters the enemies with an extremely low risk to themselves. *Herding used to be done differently beofe all of the Defense Resisastance changes and Defense Buff changes.
As for joining the Gameamp.com channel. A couple of ways, from Easiest to Hardest:
Easy: in your chat box type the following: /chanjoin Gameamp.com
Medium: Find a Gameamp member on your server and ask if a leader is on to invite you, if you can't figure out the /chanjoin command.
Hardest: Be on at the same time as one of us staff members of Gameamp. Personally I am usually on at around 5PM-12AM.
Edit to say, the Guides page is a separite clicky word than the Tips

Ohu...and if that makes no sense whatsoever, I literally fell asleep for about 8 hours while in the middle of a sentence...left a beer not drank also lol

CoH is the bomb, I tried WoW and thought it kinda paled *a little* in compariasion, even though WoW is WAAAAAY better than anything else out there.
If you really want to have fun, make a fire tank with stone attacks as his secondary... heck ya, best animation and fun in the game!
Plus, you get to SMASH AND BURRRRRRRRN!!!
