What does [pinned] mean ... oh yeah, and ...

Is it possible to change your topic title once you submit one?

Is there an emote for curtsey?

Can you delete your own topic, once you feel it is worn out or do you just wait for it to get on the bottom of the list and for everyone to forget about it?

Lastly, how the heck did that guy get 9,000+ credit. What were those "missions" on his user history, and how did that effect his credit?

Pinned means the topic is pushed to the top of that huge list of topics so that they're easily found/seen when looking at the topics.

No, you can't change the name of the topic, only the subsequent replies.

No, there's no emote for curtsey, only bow and fancy bow.

No, you can't delete a topic when you've posted it unless you're Staff. Once its there, its there for good.

"User History" shows all the forum posts and submissions someone has had through Gameamp. It tells us where someone has been posting, what he/she has submitted, and when, among other things.

Lord Xenophon has all his credit due to his hard work in making the site better. When you submit info for the site, you get credit. Screenshots, missions (information on missions you recieve in the game), Guides, Tips & Hints...when you submit any info (through proper ways of submissions) that helps the site, you are awarded credit. You can also give someone credit by rating their posts in the forums for any replies that are helpful or funny or well written...anything which you deem is worthy of a little credit for being written.

Lord X has submitted a very large portion of the info we have here. He's a great guy and a very important member on the site. He also used to run a "Where Am I?" Screenshot contest, which amassed him a lot of credit due to all his hard work. He's actually the number one single-site credit holder on the whole network!

Hope this helps.

Just a couple more ....

When there is an exlamation point next to your topic name, does that mean someone is replying to it?

Also, concerning the [pinned] item. Why and how do they get pinned vs. other topics? Just the good info on them?

The mission info that "Lord X" gave, was that stuff so that people new how to get through them better? Just trying to understand Game Amp better. Thank you for helping.

The exclamation point signifies a new topic or new replies. It means that there has been replies or a new topic posted since your last visit to that list.

Pinned items are pinned by Staff. The pinning usually happens because the info or subject matter is very important, such as the Posting Guidelines, the Signature Rules, etc.

When you look at someone's User History, if it says "Mission: " followed by some more stuff, it means that they submitted a Mission for our list of missions, found on the tab on the left. If it days "Guide" they submitted a guide.

When one submits mission info, its the name of the mission, the details of it, who its against, who the contact you recieve it is from, etc. If you have a helpful tip to help out new people, you submit it through the "Tips & Hints" section, or if its a longer guide to doing something, such as keybinding, PvP tactics, etc, then you would submit it through the "Guides" section. All tips, hints, guides, mission/contact/Task Force/Zone/Villain/Etc info you submit is subject to approval before you're awarded credit. We make sure its not a guide that already exists, info that is incorrect, and so on.

No worries about the questions. That's what Gameamp is here for.

I think Vince covered everything well except this part.

We have a list of the missions in the game. We require when they are submitted for the description to have EXACTLY what the contact says to you and the write up is the place to a bit of info about the mission (wether it is difficult, wether you have to save someone, wether you can just go in and kill the boss and complete it).

Since there are so many missions in the game (thousands of them!), we like our members helping us out to get them all (i'm sure we don't even have half). So if you check out the section, and see some missions that we don't have, you can write down the info (or take a screenshot of what the contact says so you can easily copy it later), and submit it for some lovely credit.

There are actually two reasons for those mission write-ups, and I try to write to help with both.

The one you noticed was to help people get through the missions. I can't remember how many times I would have liked to have known about such surprises as wave attacks, ambushes at the front door, higher level patrols or a purple boss.

The other reason is that good info can help people decide which mission to take, or even which contact to choose, when offered more than one choice. If there is some other info that might be critical in the decision to take (or avoid) a mission, I usually include it under the mission text in the description field. A badge for the mission, a timed mission and whether it's part of a story arc would be examples of this kind of critical info.

Now, if you want to earn lots of credibility on this site, just figure out what game data you have that we don't have posted and submit it. We have sections for most kinds of data. We also have a lot of holes to fill, as thejeni said, so you could also go out and find the data to fill some of those holes. Even if you aren't a data gathering type, you could share your knowledge with us by writing articles, tips and guides.

One more thing. The fastest cred earner on the entire gameamp network is actually Cybrdrgn. He got all that cred in half the time it took me and his came almost entirely from screenshots.
