Basing my idea on one of Firespray's suggestions...
Gameamp Rumble!
Teams battle it out in the arena for supremacy and a really cool prize or something!
We could have different tournaments with teams of 2,4, & 8.
We could do a "draft" sort of thing where we take a list of all the people willing to participate, have some captains picked out, and they either randomly draw the teams from a hat or they draft the people like in an NFL draft! How cool would that be?
"And the with the number 1 pick in the draft, Warshadow's Warriors pick...Liz the Lizzard, aka the jeni!"
Haha!
We could make it like the GAL: the Gameamp Arena League. Teams of 4 or 8 would battle it out in a scheduled season. The season prize could be a trophy signature/avatar to be worked into your profile along with maybe some Gameamp Gold or free shirts of your choice!
Anyone like the idea?

I like the arena idea. We could do all kinds of events - Free-for-all, teams, gladiators, etc.
I also like the ideas of doing TF races, giant monster hunts, and PvP Zone Domination.

WOW great ideas!
I already know of my 4 man team i want right now!
I love the arena idea, love the monster hunt.
we were going to try the PvP thing tonight, but too many people werent 15 (bloody bay) and those who were either skedaddled or weren't interested. normally i'm not a PvPer, but just running around BB getting the shards while keeping an eye out for villains, i loved it.
great ideas guys.

I'm in. I've never done arena and not much PVP, but did some BB yesterday with a non SG group and it was fun.
Is there a guide to how the Arena works?

The only problem w/ this that I see is I don't PvP. Whether it is in the arean or in a PvP zone. I don't enjoy it at all (and I suck at it).

Amen to that. I don't much like PVP and I suck at it too. Although watching you all beat eachother up might be funny 8) Seriously though I do think it's a good idea for those who like it and support doing it. Just don't want to do it myself. 8)

Well, I don't like PvP either. I'm more than happy to bash in some NPC skulls with a decent team. However, I'll try most anything at least once. :)

Speaking of Firespray (totally off-topic, sorry), is it just me or do many staff members on this site have very poor quality avatars compared to others?
They're blurry and stuff...
And regarding the idea, if I understand correctly it would be PvP battles, wouldn't you have to create various different tournaments in different character level ranges?

I like the PVP battle stuff. The Arena would give us some privacy to brush up our PvP hunting skills, and then we could do some PvP zone raids.
I really like Siren's Call because We can go help out the Longbow to keep the peace. Chasing Hot spots is a lot of fun. Killer Exp too if you haven't maxed out for the zone. It would be cool if we could go in there in large teams and turn the tide to hero control.
This, of course will be for those who like to PvP. It's not everyone's cup of tea. I can't make a lot of scheduled events unless they fall on my scheduled play nights, but I'd come to something like that if it were on one.

I'm not much for PvP myself, seems like it should be a totally separate game unto itself.. except for Gladiator matches in the Arena.. Those are pretty cool, especially once you get to where you have a good assortment to choose from.

I've noticed that a lot of people saying they don't like PvPing. Please allow me to ask "why?"
If its because of people being unfair, it'd be all (and only) Gameamp members in the Arena. I'm not a big PvP person myself (its ok once in a while but I get frustrated by the people who run away after taking one hit or stalkers who AS and run, etc) but I thought a Gameamp tournament or league would be a lot of fun. I mean hell, I know I'll have more fun organizing the league and teams than playing in it myself. How cool would it be to have a draft, strategy meetings, a tounrmanet/standings bracket...I get excited just thinking of it.

I'm up for it, only because my tastes in play end up with me exem with people i care about a lot. I'm built here on Triumph as a team tank, though i don't get much opportunity to take advantage of it. As long as this isn't gonna be someone in the SG exeming a 50 Scrapper with all those extra slots, I think it would be cool.

lol we just got done PvPing in BB and ask marine x about stalkers that AS and run. there were two running around trying to drop us and someone who wasnt me got dropped twice :) but back on topic...
if you don't like PvPing, give it a shot. i absolutely hated it before last week when we went on the shivan runs, now i love Bloody Bay. i just need to get more attakcs and i'll be set. just give it a try with us, it will be fun.

That is alright. I did go down twice though.
Although one was because I kept buffing and healing a hero that was fighting a villain.
Let me set the scene for everyone. I just got caught by a stalker and was down for a moment. Big the Chicken Tank teleports me to him. I rez and rest. Big get the others in the group to his location as well. Right by us is a hero battling a villain and he starts losing major health. I asked if he wanted some heals from me. He says sure, so I hit he with heal other, absorb pain, and fortitude. I then keep him healed and buffed for a while and he starts getting the better of the brute he was fighting. It was looking like a stale-mate.
I suddenly see in the chat window, "Ok, that is enough buffing". I look at the name and it isn't the hero I am healing, and I don't see the person that said it anywhere around (this was a clue...).
Next thing I know I get an assassin strike across the back and another quick shot which takes me out...again.
My Big Chicken friend suddenly jumps in "You killed our healer!" And proceeds to pound this stalker into the ground.
The Moral of this story?
"Heal continually but always hang with Big friends."

lol well i cant beat anyone down by myself with just ice fists. houki boshi, razorgenius and another scrapper where there to take him out.
but i guess you didnt notice, it was that "friendly" scrapper you were healing versus a brute AND a stalker. the scrapper worked over the stalker first and the stalker ran away before he died so when you arrived, it was brute v scrapper. the one that ASed you went hide mode and hit rest because he got worked over so badly it wasnt even funny.
actually, we were on that dock right in the center of Bloody Bay which i guess has become a small thunderdome type area where two men enter and one man leaves. genius said there are a lot of friendly hero v villain matches there. before carrot got there, there were probably 6 of us standing around watching razorgenuis just whooop a stalker. it was a good mano eh mano match. (i know that is way off on spelling) actually the stalker that got carrot was the same one razor beat down before you got there.

I was in the process of trying to get back up and regain some health and endurance... I didn't notice much. By the time I was ready, the stalker was on the floor.
Shouts out to Houki Boshi and Razorgenius as well then. Thanks for the back up!

I wish I would've wwnt with you all last night. But I figured Acrtic Hurricane wouldn't be much help with level 15 powers against 25s. I might have to try it with you all with Lin Ki my scrapper soemtime. I wanted to get Acrtic to 16 last night, which I did after running a 2.5 hour Frostfire mish with a pick up team. All squishies and no damage amkes for a very long Frostfire mish. I must say Acrtic is really starting to come into his own. Love the Ice/Storm combo. Major end hog though. Come on Stamina.

Flaming Rage - level 50 Fire/Invul tanker
Realm Walker - Level 40 MA/SR scrapper
Greshan - Level 29 Peace Bringer
