Ok people, here's the idea...
For those of you who don't know, I've asked about starting a Gameamp PvP League. It'd be held more than likely entirely in the Arena, with teams of 2, 4, 5, or 8 (depending on how many people we get) battling it out in either a short season or tournament. I'm thinking of either having a draft, picking the teams randomly, or allowing teams of "x number" to put join themselves in as a squad. At the end of the season/tournament, I'd like to put up a prize (I'd do so myself donating something on my own if I had to) if possible, plus Gameamp Gold or Credit if sponsored by the site.
We'll figure out about levels, ATs, etc when I find out how many people are intested and if there's enough to even worry about it.
What I want to know is this...
Who would be interested in this idea?
I need to start making a list to get an idea for how many would join up, so I know to push the idea further or try something else. Thanks guys.

Great idea, and here's a way to make it BETTER -
Have the tournaments done on the test server, that way everyone can play no matter what server your best PvP guy is on.
If you did that, Brim would SO be in.
On top of that, can we PLEASE have reguraly scheduled PvP matches on the test server just for fun??? That would add something extra to Gameamp and it would be really fun.

I can think of a few problems with this:
A) the test server, at times, is no where near as reliable as some of the mains. test could crash more often, we could dc more easily zoning into the arena, and the arena can crash just a little bit easier.
B) not all of us can get to the test server -->which leads to C
C) maybe this is just me (and i can often and have VERY OFTEN been wrong), but i'm thinking that:
If we download the test, that would basically be a copy of the real game. i'm already lagging and struggling to run the full CoH and CoV right now. if i get the test, then i'll probably just lag like crazy, and right now, i enjoy my little patch of 1 frame per 3 seconds, instead of 1 frame per 6 seconds or worse. :(
just my 2 cents, can be taken worth a grain of salt :)

Well like I said, I'm not sure which server (including Test) it would be on. It depends who signs up and how many we get. If we get enough for a league/tournament, then I'll determing the server. Test would probably be best to allow the highest toons from any server on, but we'll see when that time comes.
The test server is some more space on the HD, but I think its worth it just to get everyone from all the servers together. Like I said though, let's see who signs up and we'll figure it out after.

I've never done PvP but would be willing to give it a shot. If I hate it I can always stand on the sidelines and cheer people on.

BTW Vince if you want/need any help setting it up I would be willing to pitch in. I have moderate experiance with the arena and more than my fair share of fantasy drafts so I might be able to lend a hand in setting it up.

Thanks for the offer, sport. I'll keep it in mind once this idea gets off the ground. If we do the "team" thing, we'd have captains, so you could volunteer for that if that comes up.
From the looks of things, I'll be able to pitch the idea because of some decent support from you guys (thank you, I appreciate it). If we get at least 10 people, I'll pitch the Tournament idea. If we get 20+, I'll pitch the Arena League idea (5 teams of 4 or 4 teams of 5 at the very least).
Ideally, I'd like to have at least 6 teams for the GAL, so it'd be 6 teams of 4 at the least, so 24 people (that's people, not characters...alts don't count, sorry).
Let's keep the players coming!

Consider me a swing man. I have never PvP'd before and scheduling may be a concern for me. So if a PvP n00b is welcome and schedules can be accomdated (I know, PITA people...), I'd like to join.

I'm actually pretty excited about this idea, and honstly, every time I've been on the test server it's run smooth as glass cuz hardly anyone is there.
Heh, my highest on triumph is lvl 9...
