I was looking at the rare material trader a few minutes ago to see what the price for sapphires had gone to only to find that they aren't even listed. Is this just a glitch, or have these materials been removed from the game?

Yeah, dunno Rubies are still there XD I got one in my inventory also, but no Sapphires @ the Rare Material Trader!
I'm not seeing any updates about this or anything so I dunno wassup with it.

You people should realize that traders only have a certain amount of something until players sell them more of it. Maybe someone just bought out all of the Sapphires.
This happened to runes awhile ago.

Yeah, but when that happened to Runes it said "Sold Out", but you could still see the item.

Actually, no, it didn't. The sup monk runes weren't even at the trader. No blank space, nothing. That is, until someone sold a Sup monk run to the trader, which was instantly eaten by a soon-to-be 55 monk. People would just stand at the trader and keep refreshing, waiting for the runes to appear.
I don't know why you thought it said "sold out", because it didn't.

Geez...
It did say "sold out" sometimes... for sure... I don't make things up. And sometimes it just doesn't appear. It seems to vary... don't know why and I'm not interested in arguing it but it DOES, at least for me. As far as I know, no items have been removed as of lately.

Lol, I think what Annoy Mous is refering to is when someone sells the item, it gets added to the NPC's list, but then someone buys it out before "you" can purchase it then it displays the message about the item being sold out (happened alot with assassin and ritualist runes, and has been happening for a long time with the 10 rolls of parchment.

Well, look at it this way, are Sapphires and Rubies actually used for something?...
I do recall some one saying something about them used for Elemtantalist Head Pieces in FoW...but thats not true...
I mean, besides that, i still have no idea what they are used for, anyone care to enlighten me?
So ya, question would be why do traders still sell Rubies/sapphires if there is no use for them...

This happens all the time, which is why I put teams together to refill the stock XD, I not joking.
And, some people are saying that finally factions has a use for saphire, that there is some collector out there that takes 3 saphire for something I can't remember, but apperently this rumor has gotten to the heavy buyers.

Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out.
I'm referring to when the item has been all bought out, before you start talking to the trader.

What I find amusing is tha Gaile Gray on countless visits had stated that these gems and jewels would have a purpose. Now either she was mis-informed, or there is actually a purpose to these gems we are yet to find.
I havnt been to any Gaile Gray visits in quite a while, so I will see what info I can dig up regarding this.

this isn't the only thing gaile gray has "accidently-on purpose" told us that certain things were going to be part of Factions only for us to find out upon release that someone 'fogot' to tell the developers to include them........
/sigh at the "improved" trading system.
And you call them steamed hams, despite the fact that they are obviously grilled?

ok well on the saphire topic, they havent been removed i just got one yesterday from the jade sea soomewhere as a drop.
As far as the improved trade system..what are you talking about we got the no more WTS/WTB in local that is 100% working
