| Mind/Psi Dominator !!Need Help!! |

I thought this dom would be a great pvp toon..... Thought! She is by far the worst PVP character I have ever built... Is it me..... I think doms are getting screwed over in the pvp world.
She is an amazing PVE player, great holds and sleeps with decent damage. In a PVP map she gets owned..... to squishy! On a team she can put down some good holds and allow others to get there hits in but thats about it.... please help.... I hate to see this toon rot away!

I'm sorry but Doms are terrible in PvP no matter what you do to it. Doms are great in PvE but PvP they are just to darn squishy for anything good.

As far as i know then the Grav / Energy dom isnt that a bad build in pvp, spam holds together with your Singularity, and while target is held go in and pwn him with your bonesmasher and total focus

yes try Grav/Energy and sorry for saying bad news but yeah Doms are usually terrible in PvP :-/. I know how you feel I made 2 Doms thinking they would be great in PvP but they were terrible.
Edit: and I have to ask how did you get a elec/elec brute to lvl 40 so quickly...did you get PL'd or something?

Yeah Grouped up with friends... they tped me around gv and we banged it out in a couple of weeks. I scratch there backs and they scratch mine. I got him in to the 20s and from there it was cake....

If you can bare the lower lvls, mind/em is ok for pvp...I'd suggest SS as travel power though instead of the usual fly most doms I see get. Doms are insanely powerful in PVP if they group together and have corrs with them. I got owned by what I thought would be a easy 3 on 1...1 plant dom, 1 grav dom, and a rad corr. I didn't realize they all had leadership and a few Bloody Bay pet EB's...man I really need tp foe :/. So think of doms like you would a defender in CoH, or even some troller types (not all), great in groups, not so much solo.

Mind/pdy shouldn't be a bad dom, but doms in general are PvE not PvP unless you can find foolish foes without breakfrees or good brutes to help you keep alive...

With PvP it all matters on strategy. You find prey, study it's moves, and then strike with full force. Example - I saw a scrapper in Siren's Call. He liked to use his disorient attack first then finish you off quickly. I had a grav/energy and I just played with him a bit. He started running toward me, i threw him up with lift. When he got up I got him with power push (I think) and it was a knockdown. Then I just got him with wormhole, he had an it of hp left because of falling damage and I just finished him off with propel (got him with a stool =D). It is all about strategy and knowing weaknesses.

Ah.... well I put her on layaway for a while, got to many characters to build and she is by far the worst in pvp so she is collecting dust.

The toon does not play itself, you play the toon. No one is going to last any bit of time against a teamful of heroes. Realize you need to use active defense and your shields come from controlled enemies. Outside of Domination you are probabaly not going to do the damage you would like to aginst tanks and scrappers. . .other ATs can be owned pretty easy.
Doms just got a recharge boost to Domination in PvP. . .and a boost to building Domination. PvP takes a while to get good at in general. If you toon is squishy then you have to play like it, you cannot be lazy with a Dominator. And stand around blasting off attacks and controls without acknowledging that scrapper that is gunning for you.
