Any Battletech/MechWarrior Fans?

Im just curious to know if anyone here used to play or does play a MechWarrior game. Generally when I ask this no one reply's, which is fine because i realize that ever since it was sold to Microsoft its gone to s*** and then some.

Both me and my brother love Battletech (The Card Game). We have over 3000 cards still even though we dont play it much anymore. We will never sell them.

We also most of the Battletech and Mechwarrior novals (We are missing like 3 or something). I have only read about 4, but my brother has read like 50 or something.

the only game i've played that's the least bit mech like is virtual on, that's a cool game. i saw this set up at gamecrazy for a mech game, it was like $160 or something, the game and this big ass like 3 or 4 part control deck/ console thing. looks wicked and fun, but alas no money :( and what if i don't like it. i wish i knew someone that had it.

I play classic battletech, the miniatures game. Its wuite different fromt eh CCGs and stuff, but tis quite fun. I like the tactical strat involved, as well as painting the models myself.

Re: Any Battletech/MechWarrior Fans?

I tottaly forgot where I could find a mattlemech like MMO.

I've never played these types of games but I am willing to play one of them if I ever get my hands on them.

But then again, I'll be clueless on how to play these type of games and lose motivation.

Mech Warrior is great, i have mech warrior 2 here i've been thniking about palying lately. Giant robots are the best, but not many people play mech warrior online anymore (not sure if they eve did that much really) but i can normally fill my need for giant robots by playing the armored core game for PSx, they have pretty nice graphics and easy to jump into without alot of hotkeys.

Go Mech Warrior.

Re: Any Battletech/MechWarrior Fans?

Im a big Fan of the Battletech books, although the new Dark-Age ones aren't as good. I was addicted to Mechwarrior: Mercenary for about a month, and then stopped playing it.

However it was a good game.

Re: Any Battletech/MechWarrior Fans?

Dark Ages is the worst direction that this series could have taken. I hate microsoft and whoever thought of something so stupid. I will sum it up for those that dont know in 1min.

The Clans attack the InnerSphere (IS). Clans = Bad, Half of IS = Good, other half bad. Clan's almost take over IS. IS drives them back. 20 year peace treaty eastablished between the 2. IS at war with eachother this whole time. IS comes together after about 500 years of war. Attacks Clans. Wins. Peace for 100 Years. Governments have de-evolved the military. So now instead of having a Rail Gun, they have a big Chain Saw. Now you are in the "Dark Ages" where cause ensues.

I that this 100 years of peace, this was a time of no war AT ALL. This is so unrealalistic it made me sick and I stoped following the series.

DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU DIRTY APES AT MICROSOFT!

Re: Any Battletech/MechWarrior Fans?

In the time I was a Huge Mechwarrior fan.

Played the pen and paper game. The cardboard minature game, Mech Warrior 3 and 4 (Though I agree sell it to Microsoft killed the game ).

I was lucky to live in a city that had battle tech pods, so was able to play in the pods alot. Best way to play .

I to have read all the books. Tryed the new serires but it is pretty bad.
