GW was the first MMO i played for computer and I loved it. Sadly enough I let a "friend" use my account against my better judgment. He moved down south, but i could log into my account. I get WoW and didnt play GW for a while but I decided I wanted to eat some face with my lvl 20 W/Mo and I couldnt log on. He changed my email address and password, I tried to chat with him over aim and yahoo but i get unanswered. Im pissed becuase I think he uses my Warrior, the one I had 500+ hours and built from scratch, and it burns me up. Ive seen him use this site at school. Is there any possible way to get back my account, my call Tech Support and get the CD Key terminated or change the account name something! .....Sigh..... i miss Manny Janis...... Yeah if you see a guy named Manny Janis (last i knew i had grotto armor the Ascalon kind) Call him Rob and other vulgar names if you like, Thanks!

As far as I know, Anet cannot help you, as you gave him your account info yourself.
But the email address linked to your account cannot be changed, unless the owner of the original address and the owner of the new address both accepts. (An email is sent to both addresses and you have to accept/decline)
Does your friend have the password to your email as well? Maybe its the same as your GW Account. Then all I can say is doh!

I feel sorry for you man.
You could report this to ANET but I doubt they will do much.
But at least now, you can learn from this, to never give away your password to nobody by any circumstances. If your freind in future asks you to borrow a game, you Immediatly say no! (it's like a reflex action).
I would understand if it was a non-online game but I would NEVER give away my password + game, even if I disbanded the game for a while.

Sort of, your account would take a penalty and maybe something more searious for sharing an account (its against the EULA to share an account)
The only problem is that there really isnt much you can do, as what happened is (sorry to say) your own fault. I doubt you would recieve your account back (just guessing there), but if you have enough evidence to support that it is infact a stolen account, then PlayNC might ban the account, but thats about it.
Oh well if revenge is what you are after contact PlayNC Support with your information and they will likely do whatever they can, but other than that its out of your hands (unless you can get your hands on your so called friend and manage to get the information back off him).

I assume you've resetting the password on the account? (found on the login screen). Ubeatable is spot on about the email changing having to be verified through the original email, so there's some chance you could get your warrior back :).

Actually theres a good chance they will get you your acount back my friend accidentaly did acount recovory and he didnt have his email password so he talked to em they asked for a screen shot of his case with the cd key and they mailed him his new info
so hopefully u bought the case version of gw and if u do theres a good chance youll get it back in the next 1-2 weeks

Yeah I know its my fault, I never got an email saying the account has been changed so prolly he changed the password. I have the CD Key maybe i can get the account banned. Thanks for your guys help. I might as well just buy a new account as GW is free anyway.

You don't have to get the account banned.
You have the original CD-Key so you're the legal owned of the account and IMO you have the right to get your account back.
You should just send an E-Mail to ANet asking what to do.

I'm sorry to say but this is really you fault for letting him play your account. ANet might not be able to help you out and I they might feel like they should not since it is not their fault. This is just my opnion and how I feel about the situation.

I just added the name to my friends list and it still exists. I will keep an eye open for him and I will contact him and see what he says.
That said I am not going to call him thief as for all I know it is you whom is doing some scamming here. I must as we all must do, is give you both the benefit of the doubt.
I will see what he says and post or ask him to post himself to defend himself.
I hope this works out well for the victim of this crime.

I understand where your coming from Peorhum but I can get pics of my game case and CD Key. He has 2 accounts, his and mine. He asked to use the 2 empty spots as I only used 2 characters and he just decided to take the whole thing.

First, take a pic of your cd case and origional CD-Key. Send the information to Anet along with origional email account and character name. With that information, you should be able to get your account back. They will send you a new password in your ORIGIONAL email. Make sure that you log into your email and change your password ASAP, seeing as the said culprit has that too. When Anet gets you back your account, make sure to change your password there too.
This should work as I have a friend that went through this garbage as well. His brother stole his account when he let him play to see if he liked it. His bro liked it so much that he just changed the password and deleted all the chars on it to start his own. Anyway, he got his account back. :)

I would expect each CD key to be bound to a specific account. In which case they will find an account with the CD key you have and should be able to return it to you. If they wish for that to be done.

I got ahold of ANet and i asked them to see if my original account if is still under my old email address. I assume he changed the log in info, he had access to me email and probably deleted the message saying the account info has been changed. I also sent him a email, but I still get unanswered. Question: I have to buy the Original GW in other to play Factions right? I thought about just buying factions but I think I have to have a GW account too.... :(

No, Factions is a stand-alone, you don't need the first, Factions also opens a new GW acccount.
I hope you get your account back! I never give anything that has to do with online games/email to friends, for personal security and so on. Though friends can backstab, and I really hope you get your account back.

I guess I was alittle niave. Twisted Pulse was the name he used when I played with him, I guess he deleted him.

wowI am so gald my g/f trust me with heraccount even tho she plays oncea blue moon, Andi only play her account when I am bored of mine,since I like beat it 4 times in tyria and 2 times in factions it gets boring fast,Pluss I only use her ranger cause ihave no morespots on my account intill thet add the buy news slots stuff.
Pluss I got me a CE Gw comming this week,So I let her dilly dally on that * if she so choses*

Power, if you got tired of your GW accounts Im in need of an account as you can see, and would gladly buy yours if I dont get a response from ANet soon. They asked for my CD Key and thats the last I heard from them...
