You Asked for It

I'm sure a few of you have noticed that something different has been happening with the trading posts threads.

Well after so many people requesting it, the Powers that Be have fixed it. All posts made in the Trading post forum will NOT show up on the front page in the latest 5 threads.

I do have to say please keep all auctions and price checks to the trading post forum. Any found in any other forums will be moved to the trading post.

So now if you want to answer price check questions, or find an auction you must go to The Guild Wars Trading Post forum to find them.

Everyone is happy now, right?

yes and no, i never ever will be able to go again to an auctoin(allways only check the first 5 posts, and love it, no more spam +cred even tho

This is not going to be something that happens any time in the near future. If you want to see the auctions just go to the trading post forum. They will all be there.

The only thing people have to do now to see the top PC threads etc is go to the Trading Post Forums, just think of it as if you are interested in only price checks go to the above mentioned forum, if you are interested in quest discussion, builds etc. (other gaming related material) then you can either refresh the front page or go to any of the other forums.

The PC's arent gone completly, they have just been moved off the front page.

damn i wish i'd have read this f**kin thread b4 i posted my free orbs thread them i wouldn't have posted it in the trade section, it wasn't a pc selling or buying or aution but i was giving sumthing away so put it in there. Oh well at least sum got them.

Gd job, but I probably wont be searching through the Trading Post for auctions and stuff, as I too usually just check the top 5 threads every time I come online. Atleast Guru has a new price check sqaud and a decent auction site. Hopefully this will clear up the site!

This is great news IMO, the biggest cause for complaint on the site has been the PC/WTS/WTB etc posts taking over the top 5 threads. Good move, people can see what we are really about beyond the ingame commodoties

the point is, im never really "interested" in bidding on an auction, if i see one in the top 5 i check it out 1 time to see if theres anything i like, but i dont think i will go to the trading post, because i never really feel like i need to buy something.

Same with PC's, if i see one in the top 5 im always up to give someone a PC, but i never really feel like "i really want to make a PC now, lets check the trade post".

Maybe this is a bit hard to understand, but i hope you get my point.

Ill see if the auctions still get a decent amount of bids, if not, im afraid ill have to sell my items on guru :(

But anyway its nice to have more interesting topics in the top 5, GJ admins :)

i agree with lord_skull_crusher, i never actually want to buy sumthing but if there is an aution in the top 5 i will have a look at it to see if i can get a bargain, same thought as what he said with the pc's, but i don't see maself goin outta ma way to look.

Wasn't that all you had to do when PC/Auction posts were 'taking over' the "Latest 5 Posts"? Click once for an overview, twice for details of a forum. I can understand that this was a big effort for everyone concerned. But face it, those PC/Auctions didn't start to drown out the 'more interesting posts' until those dropped off dramatically.

Sorry, but wihtout a seperate PC/Auction box, this solution is what I've been taught to call a half measure.
It's pleasing one half of the community by ignoring the other half.
You might even say ostracise them, given the ubiqitous use people make of those "Latest 5 Posts" and the calling people lazy who liked the fact that PC/Auction in there. The "biggest complaint" that's been met here was by people to bloody lazy themselves to make those two clicks. One group gets their box "cleaned" the other gets called lazy :-(

Not a pleasant surprise at all.

Just set the trading post forum page as a favorite if that is what you're all about. It will save that 1/8th of a second that is oh so precious.
