Ok here's an easier explanation.
When you have found an addon you like, unzip it and eextract it just to your desktop. Then, Open up your WoW Directory {C://Program Files/World of Warccraft}, then find a folder called interface. Open it and there is a folder called Addons. Open that. Then drag the folder of the Addon from your desktop to that folder. Ta Da?
The Addons folder should have other stuff in it as well. Blizzard has some Uis in there too.

Exactly the method Martin just described is the easiest way to install any addon.
Artistic Expressions, My new shop, purchase various items featuring original work and ideas from your's truly! Hell...It's about time.

Nah, my hunters 39 halfway to 40 now. I never updated that yet.
The important thing I think you are missing in the addon is you are taking the files, not the FOLDER into the addons folder.

Almost perfect my dear Martin.. Take notes ladies and gentleman. After unzipping the file, your default installer will ask you where you want to save it. The default directory is your desktop, but don't do that. Instead:
1) click on the browse button.
2) open your C hardrive
3) open your program files
4) open up WoW
5) open up interface
6) open up addons
then continue the process as normal.
You're welcome in advance
