For some reason, I've been banned from Guild Wars. I went up top get a drink and came back down to see that I was only suspended. I thought it was just a mistake, so tried to log in a few more times, getting the same code error. The third time I tried, it said my account has been banned...

...I'm totally scared s***less right now. I've worked so hard on that account and I'm now banned for no reason at all. I saw that someone else has had the same problem as me, but I can't find the post, and I remember reading something about them not responding to the e-mails and such you sent them.

I've heard about this a few times here recently. I'm starting to wonder if the way GW 'detects' botting is starting to turn on them, and their banning innocent people for doing the same thing over and over which could possibly be from a bot.(in other words, they might not be sure if its a bot, and they might ban you just incase it is).
However, this is just my opinion of this situation.
thats probaly it. like if your a ss in UW you will notice a ton of bots there. so its best if your the 55 or ss to talk to the other person and make sure their not a bot and make it apperant your not a bot.
In general ArenaNet responds quite rapidly and well on complaints about invalid banning.
Of course, those complaints that contain their entire profanity list in the first sentence do tend to get shuffled down the to-do list :-)
I get the impression ArenaNet is cracking down on two things atm:
- 55HP Monk Bot farming (where they sometimes ban someoen who's not a bot-farmer but shows remarkable similarities to one)
- Racist slurs in chat.
Now, if you happen to have a 55HP monk you farm a lot with and were afk at one of the farming hotspots, I have a sneaky suspicion what happened.
Regarldess I recommend going over to GW's support site and ask what happened in a "please enlighten me and can we talk about this?" kind of way. Don't go "WTF you why'd you ban me??"
I've witnessed racist people, but I'm not one. I've never done anything wrong, I've always helped people with anything. and I don't use bots. I DID have a necro, but he's been deleted for a while now, and no 55 monk.
I hear you, Kyro, they had better unban me, 'cause I've done way too much on that account to just lose it for no frickin' reason. I read your post on it...and God, I was thinking "man, if that ever happened to me, I'd go nuts."

The last thing I was doing before I got banned was standing in Shing Jea Momnastery, just talking to friends, and listeing to music.
Though I feel like saying "WTF!" and so on, I probably shouldn't. I've contacted ArenaNet support, so I'm waiting for a reply now.

same here, and i did go nuts, but thankfully my brother is in my guild, and asked some guildys to check if it was just me and you that were the only one, and tons of other people are having this problem as well, so hopefully its a bug

there r loads of these topics on this in guru, so many people have been banned for no reason l8ly
in my opinion the reason people are being banned is because of the festival games in factions. if u av been afkin on the nine rings then this could be the reason, or an big error wiv anet. but thats wat i think and im usually wrong
and i hope u get unbanned

I got the same problem, Ive been banned too. U found out like 10 mins ago... I have been farming trolls for the last 4-5 hours that I have played... WTF IS GOING ON, I'm sooo mad at the moment. If they dont unban me, they are going to pay me back the money that I paid for guild wars and factions.
I've never done the standing-in-the-same-ring-while-afk thing.
But I'm starting to wonder if it's the farming Jade Wind Orbs over and over in the same place is getting people banned. For about 3 days I was farming outside the Shing Jea Monastery over and over farming Jade Wind Orbs. So maybe they thought I was a bot, or something. Most of the time i was talking to friends and stuff during farming, though, so it doesn't make all that much sence. I didn't even know what a bot was till like 10 minutes ago, so how could I be botting?
They need to fix this problem, and quick.

Ive noticed quite a bit of these uncalled banned post as well, and also, not to impune our find upholders of this site, that on anyone of them there is no help from the admins or even a tip of somesort on might what happen, i mean, i farm a lot, probably enough to where some might call me a bot, and from playing now for almost a year id hate to have all my work ruind.
great now im all freaked out that im gonna be banned. I just made a new 55 monk and ive been working on her alot recently. Shoot i hope they dont ban me.

..... im scared to log in now, i might get banned for standing still 1 minute and they think im a bot, just went dual UW farming with a guildie so maybe im next.. :(
im not gonna play on my monk anymore... and yes i was a few hours afk on the rings but is that illegal? it was so boring...

The fastest way to get an answer to a question such as this is to write to Support (Support Tab on www.guildwars.com). We're really careful about whom we ban--for botting or for any other reason--and we will help you with your questions.
Do be aware that if you have been botting, it would be best not to waste our time searching up the details, only to prove that yep, you've been botting. Please only write if you have not, ever, used a bot and if you are 100% positive that no one else associated with your account has done so. (I call that the "Evil Little Brother Syndrome.")
I will PM a couple of you to try to get a feel for the situation, but again, please don't waste time and effort (and, yes, money) having a search done that only confirms the ban. We want to help, and we will amend any error on our part if you will be considerate and not issue false protestations of injustice and mis-accusat
The thread on GWOnline was 7 pages last I read it. This is a problem a LOT of people are having.
im sorry for your losse's guys, it maby some thing really simple like a.net has a bug or something.
but as your siad it was for "a breach of the User Agreement"
