new with hammers .. always used axe or sword in the past .. but of late ive fallen in love with Hammers in AB/PvP ... and am still piecing it together some
what builds do you guys like and why ?
ive been running a couple of variants with Devastating Hammer as the lead, and another using an elite stance and lesser skills.. both have worked well
being a hammr noob i thught id see what those of you that use hammers are having fun with, mainly in the AB/PvP area

I've lately had fun with Enraged Smash.
Enraged Smash
Counterblow
Staggering Blow
Fierce Blow
Heal Signet
Watch Yourself
Flurry/Frenzy
Rez
Then distribute att points as you like em. At 16 Hammer and all fully charged adren skills, you'll do +40 Damage. If you have a Furious Hammer, you can spam +40 Damage almost every hit.
Also, if you go W/N, combine Enraged with Weaken Armor. 19-35, 35% damage, +40, vs 40AL monk = Dead Monk.

Forceful Blow is similar to Devestating, except you get damage instead of KD. It's nice when you're spiking damage instead of KD.

I use this type of build when I use a hammer, usually.
Skill of choice = Cover stance for frenzy

a KD/AS basicly just use hammermastery and earth magic knockdown and use aftershok,or bunny thumper:ranger war
using expertise o lower cost of skills hen spam some hammer skills wih energycost(not adrenaline)and ow recharge
for example irresistible blow.....
lots of good hammer build around u just need to figure out
wich one fits ur play style :D

I dont have factions yet but the new hammer skills have got me thinking now.
Is it possible to combo aftershock after the new devastating hammer combo if you got stone gaunlets ? Because i have not yet seen a weakness AS build yet.
devastating hammer -> crushing blow -> fierce blow -> AS
or would fierce blow on hit cause them to stand ?

my arenas build is w/a siphon speed hammerer,
9 deadly arts-15 hammer sup rune-8 tact+minor rune- rest in str+minor rune it goes heal sig ,siphon speed, protectors strike,irresistible blow, forceful blow,heavy blow, crushing blow.res sig.
do dmg through normal hits only use forceful blow as the finisher comes from unexpected dmg using rest of combo.
hit siphon speed on em to get 66% faster on em when they start moving(this is when it gets fun). then use irresistible blow, hitting prot strike right after for an easy 100-150 dmg to caster within a second. after those 2 skills u hopefully have enuf adren to use the combo, right after crusing blow hit irresistible then prot strike and they should be dead.

W/A
12+4 Hammer Mastery
10+1 Tactics
8+1 Strength
Rest in Shadow Arts
Devastating Hammer {E}
Crushing Blow
Fierce Blow
Healing Signet (for GvG and RA)/Heavy Blow (for AB and HA)
Frenzy
Rush
Death's Charge
Res Sig
Charge up your adrenaline, DC to a target, Frenzy > Dev Hammer > Crushing > Fierce > Heavy if you brought it. You should be able to take a squishy at full health down to about 20% with one spike chain. Happy Killing.

okay dont laugh i use this to solo warrior farm fow and it works quite well:
W/Me
Earth Shaker (E)
Crude swing (use right after earth)
Yeti smash
Heal SIg
Watch Yoself
Dolyak Sig
Phys Resist
Spirint
works great, earthshaker is hard to get tho. use it for soloing or areas in which you take a lot of agrro on at once. if done rite, i can clear Fow in 30-45 min when sword or axe takes me like an hr

If you want to interupt and knock them on there butts a lot, like me! Bring the elite Dwarven Battle Stance. And then bring lots of skills to knock them down or what ever you like to do. So just take this elite and for you're own build around it. Just a suggestion.

Personally, I would never bring Frenzy with a Hammer, simply because without the shield, you would be taking a lot of damage, and also, you need Healing Signet. I usually use Flurry, as when I use a hammer, the damage and KD covers up how much damage Im losing because of Flurry.
