| Whats the best mesmer build? |
|

|
alright guys i have leveled my warrior to 20 and have been totally devoted to him, so i havnt really focused on my other characters. i wanted to build something different than my guidmates have.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly you should probably check out the Mesmer forum.
Secondly give us some specifics.
If you are after a nice, easy to play, ass-kicking build for pve (that works with henchies), I recommend "clumsitude", an illusion build.
If you are going into a specific area with casters, some form of domination/inspiration is usually best.
Inspiration makes a great support mesmer.
For AB and pvp you can use a modified form of the touch ranger to really annoy the opposition.
The thing is that mesmers are such a diverse class, with a very useful primary attribute, they can do just about anything.

my best mesmer build: uhm
well: fire nuker, fast casting means imnstant firestorms :)
double battle owner: backfire plus buffs (air attunement etc), owns your mirror
TEH INVINCIMER (TOP SECRET, both the solo build and the 2-man tombs build) , errr, *never said anything*

Mesmer is first and foremost a denial type character, so you can either make a build that is reasonably good at countering anything, or if you know what opponents you will be facing you can make a ruthlessly effective one for the specific purpose. Another thing is, a mesmer is really geared towards one-on-one fights and is thus weak against zerging.
That said, there are good general purpose combos that bring almost any opponent to his knees in a very short time. If you don't know any better, you can start, e.g., by serving Crippling Anguish and Images of Remorse with a side order of Phantom Pain, thus giving your opponent a limp, brisk 10 pips of health degeneration and Deep Wound down the road. Add an interrupt or two, some energy management and possibly a self heal if you don't trust your monkeys, and you are good to go.
