I was selling a Sskai's Sword for 15k at Droknar's Forge District 1 today when someone PMed me saying they'll give me a perfect Sundering Sword hilt for it. I said yes, knowing that this'll be a scam because 20/20 sunder hilts go for about 60k. He put up the hilt, I put up the sword and accepted the offer but he cancelled. He did this for a few times until he put up a Fiery Sword hilt and accepted, thinking that I'll accept. I cancelled the trade and I got a screenshot of it and already reported him to ANet, here's the pic ^^
Watch out in-game, there are lots of hustlers out there. ^^
Does anyone here have a similar experience like mine? If so, share them ;-)

OMG that just reminded me
I was trying to sell my victo's axe, so, being the smart person I am, I went to Ascalon, I immediately got a swarm of PM's, and someone said they would buy it for 30k. I thought "ok, it's probably more than I'll get anywhere". In the trade window, he put in 30 GOLD. not platinum. I closed the trade and zoned out somewhere else, thinking "dirty scammer.."
EDIT: And it's a good thing you didn't fall for it, good job on reporting them, we could use less scammers in GW :)

you gotta take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you got, and remember what you had.

hehe, gj. I think I would've felt for it if my guildie didn't tell me that he got scammed and he told us to watch out for scammers. ^^ And yes, of course, we could use less scammers in GW ;-D

when i first got into the game had had a similar experience, but i was supposedly the "scammer" i 100% honestly accidently put 5 in the gold box, not the platinum box. i admit i was still a little bit of a noob, and after the guy canceled the trade and i sked why, i did explain why and instead of freaking out the guy understood nicely enough and we traded.
moral is-not every scammer is actually a scammer, there are still noobs who make mistakes/lag/code 7 errors etc...

I have had people repeatly cancel trade on me leaving me to wonder what the heck they were doing. But in my case I just said screw it after the second cancel and refused to open trade a 3rd time with them.
I thought they were just being jerks trying to see how long I would keep at it, but after reading about the near scam I am now thinking maybe they were trying a fast one but my screw this attitude screwed them out of scamming me. I think from now on my rule will be cancel twice and the deal is off, period.

I have seen the close scam one a bunch of times, I guess it must work often, cause it is popular.

good deal. we defently need less scammers.
About a week ago I reported people selling stuff "stuff there not suppose to" like accounts and stuff.
I got a reply from anet saying we need to know your name u was on and zone you was in.
Ok i submited 2 screen shots full intact. which showes where i was "distrct and my party screen showing my name"
Yes i was mad because it's a obvious thing to notice. I was well "i said things that made that guy look dumn" Got another reaply 3 days later from another person saying Thank You for reporting these people and submiting the screenshot's.
"was the only problem i've had with the support but yeah hope spammers are gone fromt his planet"
