Litany of the Dead - Module 3 

For anyone whose not had the chance to log on to DDO in the past day or so... Module 3 has been announced. And, it's going to drop in August - so buckle up. :)

It's called Litany of the Dead, as the title said - and it's going to be a mid-level quest series ( 4 - 7 I think it says ). Also, it seems like the Litany of the Dead will keep going past Mod 3 as an ongoing plotline. I say that because it's also touted as Pt 1 of LotD. The main bad-guy is a Vampire, and I have a feeling the one you find in House P is only a warm up for this guy. :)

Sounds and looks pretty cool.

And, you can already get some local "flavor" for the LotD around Stormreach. There are a number of NPCs about town ( new with Mod 2 ) who are a bit... odd. You may want to talk to the human on the bridge leading to the tent from the bank in the market - a dwarf near House K's teleporter, and another dwarf standing by the market gate in the Harbor. I'm sure there are more, I've just not found em yet. Each of them have some nice dialog - and are at least whetting *my* appitite for the next mod already. :)

Wow! So soon? This is a good thing! If they can get updates out that quickly. Just hope they leave themselves time to get the bugs fixed.

I may have jumped the gun in calling it Module 3... when you crank up DDO, it's listed as an "Update" - not a module.

So, sorry if I got the particulars wrong - but there *will* be some new quests added next month. Which is a very good thing. :)

Ahhhh ok. It is nice that they are putting in some new quests for a normal update though. Maybe they just didn't get them finished on time for Module 2's release.

From what Sprokfire was saying on the DDO boards, they are planning on using the modules for major feature updates (races, level caps, etc.) and a small amount of new content. They also are going to do 2-3 content updates between modules that are going to be sets of quests. Sporkfire said the reason for this was to give a slow, steady addition of quests to keep people happy rather than having a huge chunk of quests and nothing for months...

He also seemed to imply that they had the quests basically done and in testing already for the next update...

I seem to have lost the link to the forum post, but it should be easy to find on the dev tracker.

(Oh yeah... long time lurker, first time poster. Love the site...)

I must have missed that from Spork... I try to keep up with the Dev chatter - but I just got back from vacation, so I'm sure I missed a lot & am still catching up on other things. hehe

1st off welcome to the site, Primalhowl! I love when lurkers post!

As for what Sporkfire said, one thread he mentioned it in is here.

Which I think is a much better idea then waiting until a module release. I think it is a good way to keep the game fresh. And people won't blow through the content and ask for more in the first week it launches. It gives everyone time to master the dungeon. And go through all the content rather than just trying to fly through it all.
