I'm sure this has been posted on before, but I've run thru and haven't seen anything and my grandparents want me to watch Wheel of Fortune. :P SDo I'm going to ask.
How do you take screenshots that keep the menus, trays, etc on?
I've tried the /screenshotui cmd (this is what I was told to do by others) but it doesnt work? Any suggestions? Thanks all.

In other news, what does it take to get in gameamps sg?

First of welcome to the site! Some will disagree with me but I like to use a program called screenhunter 4.0, it's a free download which you can get here. You can set a hot key & put all the pics in a folder that you make. When you press the key it will freeze the screen & you can capture the whole image or just what you want.

The command is /screenshotui 1
and if you want to set it back to it is a "clean" shot the command is /screenshotui 0
As for getting in the Gameamp SG, you have already made the first step (posting on here). The next will be to join the gameamp global channel (gameamp.com it is public) and see if you can catch an officer on. You will need to make a character on the Triumph server though, that is where the SG is.

Thanks for the replies. I might have to make a char. on triump, although I almost exclusively play on infinity. :P I dont get teh part where I go to the channel; do you mean on the in-game chat channel? Thanks again.

Yes the in-game chat channel. That way you can chat w/ all us Ampers.

i think that CoH has a default screenshot jey, printscreen, that will plac ethe shots in your program files coh screnshots folder. You can set any keys to do the shots in the menu options keymapping section in game.

Look in your options menu, under keymapping. There's a place to set a key to turn your UI on and off. I always set it to scroll lock, so there's a light to tell me whether it's on or off.

Just in case you are wondering, to join the Gameamp global channel here is what you need to do.
In the game you can right click anywhere on the chat window and select join channel. This will bring up a window that asks you to enter the name of the channel. You would type in GAMEAMP.COM and enter. This will make it so you have joined the channel. Now you need to add it to the chat window tab. I just keep it in the same tab window as all the other chats. You can right click on the chat window again and select edit tab. This will bring up all of the current channels you have available. the ones on the left window are the ones you currently can see already when chatting. You need to click on the GAMEAMP.COM name in the right window and select ADD (button in the middle). You will have to add the channel to any toon you are playing and you want to see the chats.
You can then post a request to join the Supergroup on the GAMEAMP.COM channel once you create a toon on Triumph.

Hi Ampers,
IMHO, the easiest way to take a screen shot, is to press the Print Screen key on your keyboard - (usually next to the scroll lock key). This makes a copy of your screen (UI and everything) to your computer's clipboard.
The second step is up to you, I usually fire up MSPAINT, and then press Ctrl+V or Edit > Paste , (whichever boils your water), and there you have it. Perfect screenie, for you to save anywhere you please.
Hope this helps.

Printscreen is the same key you press for the screenshot to be place in C:/program files/City of Heroes/Screenshots/ folder. You can either activate the ScreenshotUI or use the above method and paste it to a graphics program.
The difference is that by turning on and off the screenshotUI, you don't have to go out of the game window to save the shot. It is just saved in the screenshots folder and you can continue playing. Especially if you take a shot while you are in a battle. You can take multiple shots and not have to keep minimizing the game to save your screen shot.
