Theres gonna be alot of dizzy people with all those whirling Dervishes around :) I cant wait to see what they look like and only 10 days to go! Woot go Anet! I really hope the PvP options includes AvA as thats the only PvP I enjoy at the moment.
I guess we will be seeing more news and hopefuly some screens as we get closer to the event, we will keep our eyes open and get it to you as soon as we can. In the meantime go over to this article on gamespot to read more about the professions and see some screens of how they look.
Its very exciting news :)
Edit: After looking at the screens and reading I am sooo playing a paragon

"capable of supporting teammates by throwing spears and using verbal chants and shouts that can boost the fighting abilities of those nearby. And the paragon's angelic nature isn't just aesthetic, as this profession's presence can help teammates resist hexes and other curses."
hmmmm, is the paragon going to make my orders necro obsolete... :-(

This already sounds 1000 times better than factions. Factions was just so... so... cookiecutter. Then again, I may be jumping to conclusions. But this one is the original development team's turn, isn't it?

lol I wonder how bad this one will be.... the two new professions sound cool, but we already have the warrior and the monk, sounds stupid to have doubles.

lenway,
i kind of agree with you on the dervish, at some point the expansion characters are going to be rehashes of already existing characters. Seems silly to go much beyond 10 "races" for the game...
the paragon seems cool though, i love the armor... hopefully it's more creative than a simple monk/rit hybrid...

Mathias,
The Paragon also seems like the more interesting class to me, hopefully it goes beyond the ritualist and the monk.

I agree with you black, This does Sound better than factions, and I dont think you were jumping conclusions, the whole oriental thing didn't seem to fit guild wars that well for alot of people including me.

The Dervish´s must be the ultimate troll farmer.. : )
These holy warriors are capable of striking at multiple targets simultaneously with their wicked scythes. Of course, they're armed with a whirling, spinning attack that's perfect for when in the middle of a bunch of foes.

As much as I like them releasing expansions, I think it's a little too soon. Maybe just a little. And I hope not every expansion will be $50, it's a little bit discouraging to pay full price. Maybe if they had discounts for how many copies you already own? lol. Sure, you don't have to buy it but the structure of the game changes so much for each expansion and it's much more enjoyable to buy it.

of course in the end its going to reach a point where th classes become variations of each other.
i think in the next expansion, rather than new classes, give us new races ?
unless there is some really fresh thinking on skills and classes that isnt just a variation on a theme we already have... i would usggest adding content in a different manner, but thats me
i like new classes, my concern is that it isnt fresh enough to make it worth the time/effort just to redo something ive already done
but again, bravo to ANet for putting out the games on schedule and continuing to work for and listen to its community

RJ,
I think you're on to something w/ the new races...
I'd love to see elfish characters (though the necros and rangers are kind of like dark and light elves)
as well as ogres (:-P) and dwarves... a lizard race, cat-like race... etc...
if they really wanted to add a new dynamic to the game, they should start adding inherent race effects...
dwarves get +5 armor, but start w/ less health than normal... would be interesting...
