Bows, bows and more bows.../bow :P

Hiddely ho there everyone

I was just wondering whether anybody would have the time and patience to post all the different types of bows and the ranges etc. I think there used to be a complete list somewhere...but I think I lost it :/

So either a link to a post or another site, or a brand spanking new post is all good ;)

I have a question about the Hornbow for any experienced ranger users. Is that 10% armor penetration worth, in your opinion, the slowest refire time in the game?

ask yourself this: Would you want a longbow that had a 33% all the time attack bonus and attacked with a -67% attack speed? you can get one from a collector outside divinity temple...

Yes. Its awesome against Warriors especially. :) The armor penetration really cranks up your damage output.

Damage Per Second... look at total time between damage spikes, the hornbow is great for damage dealing spike builds, i dont like it for barrage because the skill is ready to use slightly before the bow can use it, so it annoys me... i use almost exclusively horn and recurve (99% of the time probably), in various configurations, vamp... sundering.... shocking.... and love them.

(obviously range to target makes a difference in flight time, but if you are close up, use a short bow :P )

im with UCCat here as usual it seems. i typically run Recurves.. with a flat for pulling. for straight damage builds though the Horn is a terrific choice

ive was fortunate enough to get a flesh hornbow, max, +5 energy out of a chest that has become a fixture on my bar and a nice little damage dealer

max sundering 15^50 mursaat hornbow of defense, max sundering plagueborn +5E hornbow of defense

Elsyth's recurve and 15^50 sundering or shocking composite bow of defense (depending on if i go conjure ranger)

basically my 4 weapon slots. Drago's is in my bag for the rare 'reach out and touch someone' shot

that flesh is a 20/19 sunder, forgot to mention that.. i put a +29 health grip on it as i was about to pay for +30 and had one from a salvage

close to max on both counts, terrific little bow

still prefer my recurves for just about everything esle though

i got a near max sunder plageborn hornbow too that i dont use as i dont like the skin... but cant sell it and cant bring myself to merch it :)

A flatbow is really good to use with Read the Wind.

i think i'll just stick to my longbow because i like the little extra range that it provides and i've gotten so used to using barrage/interrupts with it that to switch would mean death to me. right now i use a max dmg amber longbow 15^50 with an armor mod and a 20/19 sundering mod and i like it. if i really want to do extra damage i bring either brutal weapon or splinter weapon. i also have a shortbow for when the monsters are in close and i need some quick interrupts.
