hey guys
My First character that i picked was a warrior and i didnt pick it Because i wanted it to be a tank.I just wanted to be melee and deal dmg.But now each time i join a party and i dont tank because i just want to be a damage dealer i get called a noob tanker...So my question is: Do warriors have to be tanks or can they just be damage dealers?...Also could you guys post some good Dmg Dealin Builds Prophecies only please...And preferably not elite skills unless they r ez to capture..Oh and if possible i know most ppl Say that it is impossible but is there any Tank/Dmg dealing builds?
if so could you tell me those too plz

they can be dmg dealers...half the so called "tanks" have no +armour skills....so they shudnt rly shout TANK LFG. just remember to tell ur party that ur a dmg dealer not a tank

For the most part as a warrior class the party is only going to look to you to be a tank. If you're not a tank most parties in the game will not want more than 2 warriors, even then instead of a tank and a damage dealing warrior (that isn't a KD warrior) it's preferably swapped out for a ranger, mesmer or a nuker.
However, as a warrior you can do most of the missions with henchmen only, provided you have a good build and the resources to pull yourself through each mission. Most PUG's only accept warriors for what they're commonly used for, tanking. Though as far as a build what weapon are you looking to use and, what can you afford? O_o

Well, here's the build I use for consistant damage+tankability:
10+3 Swordsmanship
11+1 Strength
10+1+1 Tactics
W/Mo
Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
Distracting Blow (I usually use Skull Crack, but since you asked for no elite... meh)
Dolyak Signet
Watch Yourself
Smite Hex
Healing Signet
Rebirth
You can keep yourself alive with your armor buffs and healing sig, and you can also get nasty hexes off of yourself fast if your monks are busy.

war are dmg dealers they or mor econdtions then dmg dealing U want dmg delaing u go for the win with a necro vamp build I can kill somthing in less time than it would take war to kill somthing wtith my necro.

Being a tank and dealing good damage do "not" go together.
For damage dealing a sword build would be my first choice with sword, str styled build
but a tank would be more along the lines of a tactics build. Not saying str builds cant tank but I find less stress and skill slamming with tactics.
Defence and attack are two things that you can do one or the other, try doing both and you are only half effort at both.
A damage dealing warrior should not call themselves a tank.
A look through the
Warrior Builds is a good start, and from here you can custom one of your own ;)

warriors just have rep of being tanks...if u dont want to be a tank just tell ure group im not a tank if they dont like it its to bad u shouldnt be restricted to waht otehr ppl need....ure a person not somethign u take off the shelf and use

well ppl shouldn't assume that all monks are either healers or prots, i love to play as a smiter, but i can't cuz short of the kryta missions, ppl will generally flame ur a*s off if u do.

no i mean the only time i find i can make a decent excuse to play as a smiter is in the kryta missions, cuz the smiting attacks do double dmg vs the undead.
BTW i am not new to the game, maybe i didn't explain myself properly in my previous post, but i am not new.

smiting is only good for certin points of th game and not for end game of tyria...I dont need a smiter at that time.

how do you know you don't need a smiter at this point? have you ever tried playing vs the lich with a smiter in your team? i do actually know that vs the lich smiting is uselass cuz it does set amount dmg and the lich's bar barly goes down when u meter him and deal 200dmg, so if u smite him 79 dmg with SoJ for example, he'll prob piss himself laughing. Otherwise, y don't more ppl play smiters, then other's would realise they r helpful, i mean y would a-net have made it if not to use?

I am saying we had one in are grp and well we didnt make to far besdies that we had a *tour guide war that was orcastrating what we need to do but he forgot one thing that the if u go for the wraiths with out clearing out they will mob u and u will get every one and there mom at u at one time.Witch meant we had a monk healing and one smiting that did jack cause u need 2 healing in that area and we didnt knkow he was a smiter intil later in miss

i'm not nessicerrially talking bout having 1 smite and 1 heal, i mean having the smiter as a dmg deal, maybe replacing 1 of the warriors in a team, or sumthing like that.

Oh i was the healing monk in that grp so i know it worked to a extent but he never todl us he was a smiter :|
