Yeah, what guy wants to play a male character, when you can play a hot chick? Of my 6 slots, 5 are female, the one male is my joke character, but he proved himself really well, so I kept him.

My first 2 characters were male, Warrior and Monk, mainly because i think those to classes are more of a guy's role. My 2 female characters are ranger and mesmer, and again, because they seem like a more feminen role.
I like my warrior though cause he's literally like a freight train. I have 1280x1024 resolution, and at the char selection screen when my warrior is the selected one(before i choose another) his head goes off the screen.
Standing next to most female characters, at best they come up to my warriors chest. :)

It seems men play females far more than they should in games.

Me? Im a guy, although i do not think male 15k glads is very stylish. So instead, i make a female warrior. I also made a female ranger for the hell of it :). But yes, i DO make male chars also. An end note also, but i know a couple girls with guy chars (if we do it, why cant they eh?)

In WoW every guy playing a female character is called a WoW whore. perhaps we should start with the same on the people that state that they will dance naked for blah blah...

I haven't tried playing a male character yet...I usually have one just becuase I think it's funny to see how different you're treated.
(In most RPGS females, sadly, get the better hand and are given more things then males are...Drop in prices, free stuff, etc etc.)
The only thing that's annoying is that alot of people don't realize girls acually play, so It's not really fun to play on my Ele and get called a guy for doing it. o.O

it's not that alot of ppl don't realise that gurls actually play GW it's just that they seem 2 b rarer than da boi's that play GW, or is it pretty much even? cuz i personally have only met a handful of gurls on GW over the period of 1 year and 1 month so...

I'm a guy too and I have only female characters too...cause I think, male characters (especially warriors) look fat^^
My gf, who has 2 characters on my accounts, has only female characters too...for the same reason^^
I think female armor looks way better than the male ones.

My chars are mixed.
Out of 13 slots, 4 are male (Warrior, Ranger, Necro and Ritualist), 6 are female (Warrior, Ranger, Elementalist, Assassin and 2 Monks), 2 PvP Slots, and 1 Mule (Female Mesmer).
My choice was usually to do with with Armor choices etc. One of my Monks was male, but Male Monks Armor looks like pyjamas, so I deleted him.

Study Claims Men Play Female Avatars to 'Win'
mytrip writes to mention a News.com article about the rationale behind male players playing female avatars in online games. The article says that, while some players are probably exploring 'gender roles, many just want free stuff. From the article: "Kathryn Wright, WomenGamers's consulting psychologist, earlier this decade found that 60 percent of male players who don female avatars, or on-screen personas, do it to gain an advantage in game play. An enthusiast with the online handle Jackpot649 nailed the zeitgeist in his response to the About.com query: 'I'm a guy, but if I gotta look at an avatar all day, I'd sooner look at a female avatar. Plus, people give you more free stuff.'"

Also, i find it nicely ironic when a female char overpowers a male char(of the same class) by a huge mile

You mean there's a right gender? ;-)
I almost exclusively play with female characters in MMO's.
It's part the old 'staring at a nice behind' concept and part being able to get away with not having to act like a hormone crazed macho male :-P
Seriously, without fail in every game I play a female character I end up having to explain that no, I'm not a girl in real life. It probably has something to do with my lack of competitiveness or something. I prefer to play together rather than against one another or for my personal glory. All traits that 'give away' being male apparently. Maybe that when I say 'female character' I don't mean 'baloon-breasted, underclad sex-bomb' also has something to do with it.

well it is common both was as some games give no choice as the the sex of the character ie; bloodrayne or doom.
As for when there is a choice there are many reasons why some go off gender. A female guild mate made a male warrior just for a laugh as she liked the dance and then worked out she liked the warrior skills and still plays it.
I have two females on my account that where a friends, but after buying her a collectors ed of factions she said I can have my slots back now lol.
So,, there are many reasons more than listed above like shared accounts and someone leveling up a friends character n so on.
The big question Im thinking of is if you are playing the game and not into "suss stuff" what diff does it make?
