today i killed merki 4 times and he didnt drop the unique he is supposed to...any1 has an idea why is this ?

First off, are you killing him alone? Because if you have a group, you are going to need to kill him a lot more than four times to get his unique item. If you are killing him alone, I would say just keep trying. It isn't a bug, you are just getting unlucky. Bosses do not drop their unique item every time, very few times from what I've observed. I have been doing vermin farming of late, and I have gotten shredders unique item twice, and I have done it a lot more than eight times. So just keep trying for it.

The rumor is that if you go with hench the drop rate for greens is worse. Can't prove this but of the 80 bosses I have killed for caps (many factions) I have recieved 0 greens items (all done with henchmen).
As far as group (real people not hench) drops go I have been farming sunreach and in the 20-30 tries I have seen the shield drop twice, none of which were for me :(. Keep trying and good luck.

um, thats no rumour. when henchmen are in ur party, they also get a share of the dropped items, they just dont actually show the henchmen picking up items. So yes if u want more items either solo farm, or go with a party and have them all drop out and u'll get their share of the drops also

You not getting any out of 80 bosses doesn't seem unrealistic as:
a.) You're only getting 1/8 of the drops from the boss
b.) Not all bosses drop Unique items.

i still havent gotten a greendrop on Cantha.. with 6 players through to the end
henched most of the quests, did the mission with guildies or pugs
not one green yet has dropped for me.
i got a few back in Tyria, but now one in Cantha

Well I i am farming for that stupid MM staff and it has not droped yet for me I do use henchies but only 4 henchies

Mesmer: Sv, av, spirit bond, protectiv spirit, essence bond, balth spirit
monk: same skills plus mantra of resolve and one more skill, cant remember which tho

Use a spirit bonding monk with SV, AV and an anti interrupt skill like mantra of resolve. Use the spirits cast by the rangers to kill the bad guys when AV and SV drop their energy to 0.

I wouldn't count on it. As nice as that sounds, I think they will get drops in a similar manner as henchies do. I don't remember where I heard that but I did.

just keep going, i've killed stonreaper over 30 times solo and he still hasn't dropped his item for me. i killed him with henchies ONCE and he dropped his greenie.
it's random - just keep going.
