National Gameamp Appreciation Day

Ok.. after reading some replys to my "nicest ppl in GW" thread, I realized who some of the nicest ppl are. They are the gameamp staff. They go through all of the trouble of making and updating this website for us. Many of us don't really see how much of a privledge this is for us. Gameamp provides a more enjoyable gameplay in GW. For this, I propose that on at least one day of the year, we provide a more enjoyable day for them, just like they provide more enjoyable gameplay.

I heard of a gameamp party similar to this a while back (not sure if its true) but it sounded like a one time deal. I think we should have it every year. Made and organized by us users (gameamp already has alot of work they do, no reason to have them organize it). Any ideas? Any agreements? Any disagreements (if you disagree on this.. shame on you..lol)?

sounds good but every year is a far time apart how about last day of every month or every 2 months

I agree on it (the once a year part(or twice)). I've been a member of this site for several months and I have never thought once of going anywhere else. I visit here everytime I get free time and there's a computer within my reach.

yep.. now that you say it.. every year is kinda long. Like every few months is good i think. not to close together though.

I would like to see every two months on the last day.
Ingame would be nice.

Just a suggestion:

We could maybe have a certain amount of people preparing the "party". Say 10 people prepare an event, something like fighting your way through somewhere, turning off radar and playing hide and seek, having a small rock paper scissors contest. Then the 10 People that prepared it could put in say x amount of K and the winner(s) would receive the gold. But all in all the party would be dedicated to Gameamp.

Going out of town now, so I hope you guys get some ideas floating around for a future event :) I'll check back here when I return home on Sunday.

well... how many ppl are there in all of amp.. cause the 100gp fee for each member could add up pretty fast. I was thinking we could have the part in a town or outpost.

If you mean the amp guild...

1 leader
15 officers (some of which are duplicate accounts)
83 members (though i think there are a few who are invited but havn't accepted yet)

means the forum mods so probably just the leader and 15 officers - duplicates

i like the idea of playing hide and seek that would be fun if we cleared out an area in tyria that is big and open, or even the main place on shing jea island, althought hide and seek in FoW would be rather fun and humerous, but only 8 people could play at a time

well.. we can hold it at the hall.. with enough ppl doing this event, money won't be a problem for inviting ppl as guest. One game I have been playing with my guild is a version of DA. I noticed that when you put 5 sup air runes on your ele with whatever kind of armor (except health boosting and aeromancers) you have 105 health. at 16 air magic.. air orb (or whatever it's called) hits 106 dmg. Just like that one hit kill move in DA. Windborn speed for the speed enhancement, and shock for the touch skill. I play with no rez so its a quick game. 8vs8 is really fun. Last team with at least one member alive wins. Ultra fun. We could have a DA tournament.

My guild even has the DA hall.

First of all, hide and seek in a guild hall can be more fun because everyone can play and its much more fun in my opinion with a fun hall.

righto, it does sound good in a guildhall i tried that with my guild but my guild is only small for communication stuff we dont want many members (only have about 10) so it wasnt very easy (specially the people sitting down in the fire so you couldnt see them..

Next we need to decide when to start the first anual (.. or bimontly... but anual sounds better) Gameamp Appreciation Day.

But before we decide the date.. here is a list of things we need to decide on.

1) Where to host this
2) More activites
3) Prizes?
4) umm.. idk.. but there needs to be more

and here is a list of things already established

1) Immatation DA
2) Hide and seek (CTRL+Shift+H version)
3) going to be at a guild hall (not sure who's hall yet)
4) bimonthly (i think we can all agree on this.. at least that's what it sounds like so far.)

more ideas!!

cool.. thx.. now we have a link established so that amp actually knows we are throwing a party for them. LOL wouldn't be a good party without the ppl we are throwing the party for there..=D

another thing I think we might need is donations to cover the 100gp fine for inviting as a guest. Because I have no idea how many ppl will actually show up, we may be able to just pay for everybody, or we may have to have everyone pay thier own fee. But we should at least pay for all of AMP to get in. I'll be saving a bit for the party.

perhaps we should make a sign up sheet for the first party (so we know how many about would show up to the second party) so we can know how much to save up.

Instead of having a party at the AMP gh, we could party somewhere where noone is ever at.. like Maguuma stade.. (especially international districts) :D

true. I don't think money will be a problem. But i know there are hundreds of ppl on this site.. So i really don't know how many will show. I currently have about 10k I can donate also. We also may need money for prizes (or just prize donations..lol). My guild leader has agreed to letting us use our guild hall for the party. Its the dragon arena hall. But whichever hall the comunity wants to use. Lol.. but with all the ppl that might come to this.. all the officers are gonna be working hard doing all the invites =D. Hope amp likes it.

well.. if we had it at a town or outpost.. then there are alot of games we wouldn't be able to do.

Also.. not everyone on this site is that far. If its at a hall.. even if they are still at pre searing... they can make a pvp character and go to the hall of our choice.

Here's another activity idea. Most unique dye. If they have expensive dye on thier armor already (only has to be chest piece but can be all) and don't want to cover it with this dye.. then they can make a pvp character and dye the chestpiece (most noticeable part).. just an idea though

IMO an in-game event isn't such a good idea.
I mean if we really want to show our appreciation to all the staffers out there at the forums, we should organize something here @ the forums.

We could organize a competition for the best thank-you screenie or something? :P
