Search Party for Gwen!

Everyone has heard the rumors about Gwen, no one truely knows the story, but I, and many other people I assure you, will want to find out too. I don't really care if there are people that say that this is a broken quest with no end. For all we know it could just be the hardest quest we have come across in the entire game. They may say its broken, but maybe becuase no one has finished it yet?

A few sources say that one Japanese man has actually completed the entire quest. Now you may believe it or not, I'm not sure that I do, but I am willing to find out.

This quest will spend a lot of time looking over the story line from beginning to end, watch everything that happens, get everything related to Gwen in any way, and we'll see if we can find Gwen.

Many people have said they have seen Gwen in the Underworld in the South-East, which is the Chaos Planes, I have never travelled there myself. Before I start this mission to find Gwen's Quest, I will first travel to the Chaos Planes with some Guild Members and see if we can find Gwen's Ghost.

If you are interested in this mission, or anyone else that you know of, please feel free to post your ideas and theories on this thread. Also you can contact me on GW if you want to start this mission from scratch.

P.S. one other rumor that I heard was that after completing this quest you will be allowed access to the Underworld at anytime.

Welcome to GameAmp!

I'm with you 100% on this. I too have done lots of research on the topic but have yet to come up with a answer. It may sound silly to some but if you really pay attention, it's pretty interesting. And I don't believe the quest is broken, I think it's just an unsolved mystery.

I have gotten Gwen to follow me and have gotten the Tapestry Shred so far.

Welcome to the site :=)

I for one would be very interested to see some final definitive proof as to the truth behind Gwen - broken quest or not it would be nice to know if there is in fact anything more to know about her. There is a tonne of info/speculation throughout the forums have a quick search, some of it might help. Whatever you discover even if it is nothing new keep us informed it would be interesting to read about your investigations.

Okay, I may not be the best person to get info from, but I'll say what I have gathered in my time at Amp and GW.

-The Gwen in Underworld rumor was true during the Beta Events, but removed in the actual game.

-You can find Broken Flute outside Sardelac Sanitarium, Tapestry Shards in the Stingray Strands. But Wiki reports that the Tapestry no longer spawns.

-Gwen's mother, Sarah, can be found right at the beginning of Underworld.

Other than that, there isn't any additional information.

And that rumor about 1 guy finishing the quest may or may not be true. But you have to admit that with over a million players in this game, only one person finding it seems incredulous. I'll treat it as a rumor/false until proof is given.

ohh heres something i remember when i made my first female in pre searing u can se shara in ashfor the town not the abby she didnt say much but i seemed that see was gone when u got the shard

So far what I have found is that after you give Gwen the flute, cape, and 1 iris flower she gives you the tapestry and starts to follow you. I have also found her mother, Sarah, in the village in front of the Abbey. This is as far as I've gotten in the quest so far.

If anyone has any info on the Tapestry piece, please post it.

The Tattered Girls Cape could be found outside Fisherman's Haven (I used to have one) but it no longer spawns, and a Wilted Red Iris Flower was supposedly found in another area that always eluded me, I never actually found one.

From the Beta, taking one or all of Gwen's items to her Mother in UW was said to trigger the quest.

ANet (Galie Gray and Froggie) have always avoided questions relating to Gwen, and her future within the GW world, but in my experience, they only avoid questions that I'm pretty much sure they must know the answers to, but want to keep quiet (Don't want to spoil the suprise). Yet, they always make a definate statement against the things that will definately not be in GW.

I beleive there is enough interest from us Gamers, for ANet to either rewrite her story for an addition to a future campaign, whether it was planned or not, or to release the quest, and it's conclusion, in a future update.

It's like GW could have been a huge jigsaw puzzle, but ANet decided to take a few of the pieces out of the pile, just so they can release them slowly over time to keep us interested, and make us feel like they're continuing to add to the game, when in fact they're probably busy with campaign 4.

There was a rumor going around for a while that Gwen in the Underworld actually was a crafter of a new 15k armor, and it took Rubies, Sapphires, and 1,150 Red Iris Flowers. However, the rumor was also that she was only accessible through the Underworld entrance in Lornar's Pass, which was claimed to be the entrance to an entirely new Underworld. After traveling there with a few friends, I discovered that it was just a portal to the same Underworld that is accessible through the Temple of Ages. However, I still am not sure about the rumor of the 15k armor she allegedly crafts....it would be pretty interesting to find her and see.

You say there is a portal to Underworld in Lornar's Pass? Is it closer to Beacon's or closer to Dreadnought's?

It's right outside the door that leads to Dreadnaught's Drift. If you go up from the south door of Lornar's Pass, keep to the east and you'll eventually see a passage with ruins surrounding it. Go in until the dead end, /kneel and Grenth will appear.

Yes, you still need to pay 1k to enter, but you can spread that out amongst players. The 1k covers the entire group.

Hi I'm new to AMP but not new to GWs. My Theory form a programmer/game designer perspective is, to do the glen quest you need the following.

Gleens Broken Flute.
A Flute.
A Little Cape.
Tapresy( the thing glenn gives you once you've befriended her)
Red Isis Flower.
And Talked to Glens Mother in pre-searing after you've befriended glenn.

Then you have to be accended and have a lvl 20 character, after that you go to the UW, talk to glenns mother and then show her glens various objects/artifacts, then that could trigger the mothers meamory, or give an indacation of her duaghters dimise.

But that my idea anyway, havnmt tried it yet.

Last night I was checking around forums and some said that there was another item that you get in pre. It was called the orb of dreams. Not sure if it was in beta testing though. It may have been, but if not it is in pre and I have no clue on how to get it.

The orb of dreams is proven to be a yahoo in the wind, same guy made rumour up on these forums then when you get the orb you get feen entrance to Uw without paying ... yeah right!

After reding some of the posts I've came to an other theory.

I think glenn is playing a story similer to Hansel and Gretal.

Because according to some post some of glenns other items could be or use to be found in various areas.

Now lest assume one of two things.

1.) Glenn Is leaving a "trail of Bread crumbs" for you to find her.

Or...

2.) If you were to place a marker at each location the items use to be found at, and pin point the absoulute center of the points, that may lead to Glenn's Location.

Well the two items in post are too far apart and doesnt give much info on where she may be.

From her comments, she said she wanted to be a warrior, maybe she left ascalon and went to follow in her father's footsteps?

If we find info on her father, if there is any, we may have a path.

Oh and the itens is fron gwen like orb of dreams, hes his memorys and etc. A monster captured gwen and split hes body into pieces of things..
This is supposed to be in chapter4.
I dont believe in this one but ok lol.

Who is Glenn ?
Anyways i still think it's just a broken quest and everyone is just breaking their head for nothing, however if it may be a (darn well ) superhidden quest then it'll just make my day when som1 will discover it =D

Yea dude a sane person would have figured out that you need 250 orbs for a mask (Tengu even *cough*) and as for Nightfall continue the Gwen saga, HELL NO because some of the items were erased and cannot be accuired by new players (tattered girls cape) and thus it would be just discriminating if Anet would give a quest to those who wasted their inventory space on those items all that time.

One Final idea, I'm right now looking up info...

Heres the Idea,
I havnt cross referenced the time periods, but what most game companys do is they make little refernces to the next exspansion or they hint to something big in the game.

Now with all that in mind, they've hinted about cantha and the new up coming game Nightfall in the orignal GW game... But one ledgend still retains its cloak of mystery, what happened to the people of Orr?

Glenn said she wanted to be a warrior like here farther and in the past her cape could be found at the Fisherman Haven, so if Orr went under sea, maybe glenn some how made it to Orr before the big disastore happened and got trapped in Orr, there for that may be the next Game after NightFall.

That may not help much in helping find Glenn but it does add more to the table though.

Your idea is a little time paradoxic one and could never happend because Orr sank into the sea b4 gwen was born 10 times (Yeah GW game has not only CD but also a book that you can read)

Well if it is this super hidden quest then , there must be a super rare if not totally uniqe reward , that im guessing will be worth a hefty amount , think of it as farming , im thinkng of a suprise like something like the hidden scene from the movie constintene (were his companion becomes gabrial) like for instance gwen becoming dwana , if all the other main characters moved up levels then maybee tht is a clue she will to , and it might have somehting to do with tht level 5 ranger in FOW , or possbly it could only be acessable when u beat the 4 titan quests , or there could be a sort of easter egg or cheat , i myself have found a couple of empty and useless areas in pre ,maybee she broke of and join metallica XD , i dont kno its certanlly a good point , but i will look into it .
