So im normally playing guildwars, but because of this gameamp week i decided to create a WoW account.
I downloaded the wow client, and clicked on create account.
First problem im having is it wont load when i want to go to the next step, sometimes i have to stop loading and press next again like 10 times before its actually working.
When im (finally) at the point where i need to give creditcard information, i have to give my credit card number.
I dont have a credit card, but i have to give my credit card number for a free trial (!).
So i got my mothers credit card, she didnt understand why i needed her credit card without having to pay anything, but after i explained her the stupid reason she gave me her credit card.
After trying to load and cancelling for half an hour, im at the point where it says: "Creating account, this will take a few minutes", and you see alll the peons walking.
I waited for 15 minutes, and then i got this message:
"Your account creation timed out. You have to start again from the beginning."
Maybe you wow guys are used to this kind of crap, but i never got stupid things like this with guildwars.
Maybe you understand my anger.

Eh it's like that sometimes...Oh, today is tuesday...tuesday they shut the game down from like 5pst to 11 pst I think, and they also might shut account creation off...I don't know, never tried.

hmmm i think if they shut account creation down they should tell that instead of telling me: "You have to start all over again. sorry."

haha I guess so...hmm...Why don't you give me your credit card info, and I'll make you an account... :)!!!
Well maybe wait about an hour or so, then try again, they might just be overloaded with other people on the site. It happenes alot.

ok i'll do that, thx for the advice :)
Im currently at the point where i added credit card info again, but it wont load any further. I'll do something else and try again later.

i tried to european wow site instead of the normal (american) site.
Its lots faster :)

But you probably won't be able to play on the US server that is planned for the GameAmp festivities if you use the EU wow site. I know it is frustrating, but it would even be more painful if you succeed in the end and then find out you can't team with the rest of us.

Account creation and editing is disabled during downtime. Try again around 3:00 PM EST. They don't have a separate warning about this, because it's only one day a week, they just use the default error message.

I'm just hoping Europeans will be able to get on the server we will be on.
And as a bit of the side note, if you do want to participate in Gameamp Week, you'll want to wait just a bit to use the credit card and activate the account, other wise your account will expire before the week is over. We will be meeting up starting next Monday.
