Eles that use firestorm or other AoE spells cause monsters to run away, the tank that is beating on the monsters automatically chases the monster he is attacking, often getting drawn into a second group of baddies.
Thus Wammos get a bad rap for drawing aggro when they were doing thier job.
henchman ele is a noob then. yell at him for his bad skill choices.
Done that a lot ;P His AOE, combined the the henchies dogged following when ya don't want them to, means you can push mursaat bosses into the towers and a few jades range :)
Hot hot! I am Curry Flavoured.
I have a spicy personality. If you can take the heat, you'll love me, if not, I'll probably make you cry. I am not for the faint-hearted. What Flavour Are You?
The one reason why I don't bring the fire-ele hench is firestorm... everytime I try to pound a pack of baddies with my meteor-shower she drives them away with that useless firestorm!!!

As was said before, the warrior should be paying attention, we're all capable of spamming [Enter] and hitting keys 1-8 on our keyboard, it would take a little extra effort to use your move keys [W,A,S,D].

Besides a good Fire Ele does not use Firestorm...
That comment deserves a prize for dumbest comment of the week really.
Its all about knowing how to work your magic, sure firestorm sends npc's up the tree, but try to combo it with heavy knockdowns and perhaps other spells.
You cant expect to toss in a spell or 2 and think the job's done.
Why Why Why is it always Tanks that get the blame for struff, i have been in hundreds and i mean hundreds of teams where monks/nercos/ele's/rangers seem to be in such a rush that they always run run run run run up front then mess up and try and blame us poor tanks it just makes me lol how persecuted the tank is..........pass me a sharpened cd' case so i put me and all us tanks out of are misery.
people just dont like to take the blame, and push it to others. since warriors and monks are often always blamed, ppl just blame them too. its the fact and imo will always be.

i am a BAD BAD MAN
i agree. its not always warriors that aggro things. i mean i only aggro things when im told to or i know i will survive till i gain some back up from my team.
im a w/mo and i can do alot of things but its getting really annoying when everyone blames me for wrong doings. i can blame alot of other players for doing something stupid. its always possible for someone to make up for there mistakes but as soon as a w/mo makes a single mistake they get a bad rep everywere and even ppl make stupid comments like ECHO MENDING.
I'm sorry but an Ele who used Firestorm as a Fire & Forget and a Warrior who can't retarget.....you should be choosing better teams!
As for the hench I don't think I've used Orian since the AoE nerf. Can't wait for Nightfall to see if the modable hench idea is gonna be in there!
Edit:
Just an afterthought but look at the Ice Imps, Mind Freeze + Mealstrom is a killer. That's a damn 4 second cast (I think) and look how many people struggle with those!
Don't just max out Fire & Energy Storage, put a little in Water and take a freeze ;)
Well in pve the only firestorm i saw was from the henchie and newbies to the game who thought FS was sooo great. They also ran up beside the warrior and get hit like crazy. Even FS combine as soon as they get AoE they run away. Meteor Shower knows them down but again they manage to get out of it. But Meteor Shower is still a good skill to carry out. If You want to do fire AoE bring Rodgorts invocation at least lol
And not saying who's fault on, but if ur dumb enough to follow a target and agro a bunch of other monsters... Well pretty obvious there.

Ok gl in chain kd a group for 10 seconds. Sigh.....
^The skill trainers are at Grotto and Ember Light Camp..
Oh and you can't put all the blame on an ele for scattering foes, then a warrior follow them, it's pretty obvious just don't follow them. And once you beat the group just yell at the ele or tell him/her not to use FS..I'm an ele, I never use FS or even Meteor Storm, I prefer Phoenix, Fireball, and a few other spells.
As a Warrior, I don't mind if my teammates use AoE spells; as long as they know what they're doing.
Meteor Shower + Slowing Hex + Firestorm + Breath of Fire = 1 dead mob.
As for the scenario suggested by Vicky the Merchant, the fault lies with both the elementalist and the warrior. Elementalists should not cast and forget AoE, and Warriors should not hack and forget. Pay attention.
I agree that in the instance used in the OP both the Ele and the Warrior could be in the wrong, knowing FS drives off enemies, if the warrior had everything under control the FS would only mess things up, however if the warrior was being overwhelmed, it would have helped drive them off.
Firestorm is not a 'noob' skill, the only thing noobish about it is peoples poor use of the skill. I often bring FS because it has many tactical applications. Its great for driving off mobs that bypass tanks to get casters and making areas monster free if you need to control flanks or make an escape route.
Im not trying to justify everyone using FS, I have seen some terrible misuse of it in my time, and it is not a skill for every situation but its biggest problem is people's lack of understanding of its capabilities. There is nothing wrong with the skill itself.
N.B. You can use Echo Mending if your really lucky, W/Me with echo and spell/enchantment stealing. If you can grab mending from a monk (or in PvP a W/Mo) you can actually do it :)

In RA, we've quadrupled mending. It was wicked awesome with 4 mendings on the wammo. :P
PS: Uh oh, some of the saracasm is dripping from your post into mine Advocate. That's not what I wrote! :D
I have a wamo and I have only like once been blamed for aggroing a group of enemies. But like everyone said people need to pay atention to what there doing or they just get there butts kicked.
