OHMYGOD THIS WARRIOR IS SO GOOD

i swear i was in allaince battles i was using my assassin and we were 4 guys, ALL melees. so we found this other luxon group and then we fight them, we killed their monk, their mesmer and their ranger so all we had to do was kill their warrior! and OH MY GOOOOOOOOOODD!!!! HE HAS A ONE CRAZY BUILD!!!!!! from wat i remember i saw him use these:

Defy pain [Elite]
Endure pain
Dolyak signet
Watch Yourself
Mending
Defensive Stance
Shield's Up

i swear he didnt use any swordmanship attaking skills BUT OH MAN HE WAS LIKE THE PIMP GOD, I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DA PIMP GOD BUT NOOooOOOooooo HE IS DA ONE!! we were like 4 of us!!

so im guessing with Dolyak sig, watch urself, shields up will totally give you +60++++ armor rite? well i was hitting zeros at him!! and the assassins have the average dmg of 70-85 dmg OMG!!! and i cant even knockdown him and use falling spider to posion him cuz he cant be kockdown cuz hes using dolyak sig!! yea but he was hitting 1s and 4s at us LOL!!! but who cares???? hes a good tank! yes i know tanks are supposed to be damage dealers but... him???? HIM?? HES GODLY!!

i dunno hes name but i realli like to know his defense build

that is a reeel dumb build. defy pain and endure pain dont stack.

hey i tried the defy pain and endure pain jsut now and it gave me a total of 1106 HP for my warrior... so yes they do stack lol

thats gotta be the worst ab war build ive ever seen. wow... he can stay alive against other melee......... he cant deal dmg and will get owned by casters.

and, tanks arent suppose to deal damage as you said, theyre suppose to take aggro and stay alive. sounds like an ok PvE tank build... maybe.

yea they dnt stack but u cn use 1 and then wen it runs out use the other =D its like a super tank build aint to hard to think off its very simple to create but very defensive. Downside is offensive

Yes they do stack I just did it to make sure that they would and they do. I know that I did it before but just could not remember.

Lol, I used a simmulair build to try to get into the enemy base, but the base defender does 999dmg witch has a rechargetime of 1 sec :P

I used Vigorous Spirit though, so I had about 1400 health.
"BTW, Endure Pain and Defy Pain do stack."

pffft, that looks useless in ab's, he cant deal damage, using dolyak he cant move, and if the other team was standing there pounding on him, that's their fault, basically he could have just been ignored.

i agree with uc, this build would be good like tanking in pve but in ab its useless you will just be sitting there =(

It's not really that big a deal. I had a tanking build I used in PvP once. They were able to kill my entire team, but they just couldn't seem to get me down with 2 warriors and a spike ele. Only reason I did lose is I screwed up and used two skills at once and the ele happened to time that spike at just the right time.

Oh, and no, tanks are not supposed to be damage dealers. Tanks are supposed to be damage absorbers. They are there merely to survive and maintain aggro on themselves while the rest of the team does the damaging.

i agree, but not in ab's, there is no structure or team builds, it's random drop in, a warrior that cant deal damage, then should get ignored, hence inbalancing the 12 v 12

TBH, if a tank build is useful in AvA, then you're fighting some useless people.

No offense, but you're just wasting time if you try to kill a Dolyak Tanker. As soon as he hits Dolyak, his danger level drops to 0.

At the most, warriors should have 2, maybe 3 defensive skills. The exception being specially created builds. 116AL + 20AL (Sentinel's Armor, Shield, Watch Yourself) should be enough. If someone can kill you with that amount of armor, then adding more armor would be pointless.

I've never played in ab, but you're completely right about the random team deal. However, I still wouldn't call a damage dealing warrior a tank simply because the situation is different. Maybe I'm just hung up on terminology, but everywhere else, when someone asks for a tank, they want someone that can take the hits. But since this game has no real means for the warriors to taunt enemies in order to regain aggro, a straight defense build is kinda pointless, unless you can get a choke point to body block.

With my tank build, I still am able to deal some damage becuase it works for me. I put enough points in my swordsmanship to hit the weapon req (9 for mine) and I take Glad's Defense. With those two things, I can still deal enough damage to feel useful while having enough points in tactics to up my defense and evasion. I think at one point I had worked in apply poison too, but it's been so long since I played...

Lol That may of been me, but if it was you got my build all wrong.

What I use is simply...
Dolyak Signet,
Watch YourSelf,
Healing Signet,
Shields Up,
Victory Is Mine,
Definsive Stance,
Thrill Of Victory,
Mending.

If you play it right its like being invincible for about 30-60 secounds. Victory is Mine is usefull cuz durning an AB people dont bother to cure conditions so I can at least get around 150 health and 15 enegrgy. The only Problem is I get really really slow.

yeah, i have used that, but its even less specific :P
I have never been hung up on any of the 'names' If i was LFG to be a stance tank, i would advertise as such. If i was going as damage dealer/blocker i would just advertise as axe tank lfg... i uno, guess i never actually am lfg with my warrior, and if i am forming a group, and a warrior says 'warrior lfg', and i am in senji's corner, or any mission town for instance, i would assume a damage dealing hammer/sword/axe warrior

you were hitting for 0 cuase of his armor rating.

now i am not sure but i think the armor applies to most spells now too, i use the 100 armor + physical and elemental resistance, shield and a shout or 2. i can get my armor rating really high which means that except for degen (which defy and endure are for) i dont loose alot of life
