Presence pool

hi, I've heard that causing fear is great for pvp is this true? and if so is it worth going to invoke panic or can you stick with intimidate? and whats the difference between challenge and provoke?

RE: Presence pool

Not many archetypes have resistances to fear so it would help to mitigate damage and leave your enemies trembling in place for awhile. I'm not sure how well it would work though in PvP.

Pick intimidate if you just want to "fear" a single enemy. Get Invoke Panic if you want to "fear" multiple enemies

I usually don't have the space for the Presence Pool in my toons so I don't know how effective the powers really are. I just had Fearsome Stare on my defender and it was a great power to mitigate damage.

Challenge is a single target taunt while Provoke is AoE Taunt.

Thx for the quick reply, really appreciate it, so it's proberbly best to stick with intimidate for pvp and just fear single enemies at a time

RE: Presence pool

Well it really depends on who your fighting. If your fighting a mastermind you probably want to get invoke panic.

And the Presence Power pool might be more useful or less for some archetypes. If you can tell me the archetype you want to have the power pool on would help me give you a recommendation.

I havn't had much experience with th Presence Pool though.

RE: Presence pool

well I was just thinking general pvp I mean you can never be sure who you are going to come up against but I presume it would mainly be tankers and scrappers as in pvp zones there are generally more of these archtypes than any other in my experience

oh yeah, brutes and other stalkers as well if I'm in the all v all pvp zone but i prefer heroes versus villains more :)

RE: Presence pool

You'll probably be fine with intimidate then if you intend to do a lot of one on one battles
