hi, i was wondering ive seen a few people that have taken the concealment pool in their builds, do stalkers need it and is stealth, invisibility or phase shift better than hide?

Honestly not sure, I dont know too much about stalkers, but because on the fact that stalkers get the Hide power in their primary, I'd just guess that the Concealment power pool is unessecary.

Stalkers get the concealment powers all the time. It give them another layer of invisibility making it harder for heroes to spot them in PvP.

i don't understand it, surly hide gives you 100% invisibility even at melee range so why would you want another layer of invisibility?

It's not unneccessary, it's they key to success!
Stalkers do take Concealment because the Stealth and Invisibility powers stack with Hide!
Many people don't know how all stealth in the game is applied and how perception works against it.
You're not just hidden or anything, your distance is increased.
CoH works with two different types of distances.
There's the absolute distance and the 'concealment distance' as I like to call it.
This also explains why you can be spotted from close up using Stealth and why you can notice the same with Invisibility at times.
For instance.
Imagine that I'm standing 200 ft away from you, this is my absolute distance, it determines whether or not you are in range for certain of my ranged powers and such.
It's just my actual distance from you.
But, what happens if I switch on Stealth, then 390 ft gets added and my 'concealment distance' is set to 590 which is 90 ft out of the base perception distance of any player, the range in which you can normally spot anyone.
Therefore you can't see me.
If however you close in 100 ft decreasing the absolute distance to 100 ft then the 'concealment distance' is 490 ft and just in range for you to now spot me.
Invisibility works the same really, except it adds about 610 ft meaning making it so that even if you're standing right in front of someone on 1 ft distance you will still be outside of a player's base perception range of 500 ft and thus not visible.
Though, he could use an Insight to increase his perception by 125 ft raising it to 625 ft and he'll see you again, if you walk backwards about 30 ft you're invisible again....
That said, and knowing that you can stack Hide with either Stealth (when fighting) or Invisibility this means you can effectively increase your distance by up to 1000 outranging almost any perception.
For this you do need to be at leats level 30 however, below that your stealth will be capped at a lower distance than 1000 ft.

With a +perception buff you can easily see a hidden stalker, so might want to have invis stacked with hide for that Leadership Defender and his group

He hit the nail on the head.
Tactics is a really awkward PBAoE Perception buff, when used by a level 50 Defender it'll add a perception of 435 ft to him and all allies near him.
Hide is -500 so that only precisely compensates for the base perception range and since you're always at least 1-2 ft away from someone (can't stand inside him) it will make you fully invisible at melee range unless your enemy has any buff at all.
You'd need a stealth boost greater than that 435 ft, so not even Stealth is gonna help there, as it's only -390 ft.
In other words, if you're not running Hide + Invisibility the entire group may spot you.

I play CoH because it's relaxing. I don't play a lot of WoW because it's too involved. I just pick powers based on my past experience rather than crunch numbers to figure out the best possible percentage. It's just too much, killer.
Plus, I don't do well with competition. I tend to break things.

Concealment for salkers is a must if you plan to PvP at all. If you do not plan to PvP however, don't take it as hide has plenty of concealment for most mobs.

"If you can understand" this is exactly why stalkers grab the concealment pool in later lvls. Great job explaining it.

Actually, I think this was a great explanation for it. I know what he was saying, and I don't have a migraine. :P
