My Spines/Ninjitsu Stalker

Hi, I've had trouble fitting everything I want in as I'm taking the presence pool, concealment pool and fitness pool. I've decided not to take a patron power as with spines I already have plenty of range, I also have an imobalize and with the presence pool I basically have a hold, having a pet would be cool, but I just don't have any room. So here's my build;

Lvl 1: Hide
Lvl 1: Lunge
Lvl 2: Ninja Reflexes
Lvl 4: Danger Sense
Lvl 6: Assassin's Impaler
Lvl 8: Build Up
Lvl 10: Teleport Foe
Lvl 12: Placate
Lvl 14: Teleport
Lvl 16: Caltrops
Lvl 18: Impale
Lvl 20: Kuji-In Rin
Lvl 22: Kuji-In Sha
Lvl 24: Swift
Lvl 26: Ripper
Lvl 28: Smoke Flash
Lvl 30: Health
Lvl 32: Stamina
Lvl 35: Challenge
Lvl 38: Kuji-In Retsu
Lvl 41: Intimidate
Lvl 44: Invoke Panic
Lvl 47: Stealth
Lvl 49: Invisibility

This is mainly a build for pvp so that's why I chose to take the concealment pool and the presence pool. Any thoughts welcome, Thx.

Oh yeah, I could use some help deciding what to enhance each of these powers with and how many slots to put in each power, if that's not too much trouble thx. :)

1 recommendation is replacing Smoke Flash with Blinding Powder. They basically serve the same function, but BP provides a confuse factor (like the CoT Succumbus).

RE: My Spines/Ninjitsu Stalker

It seems like a nice rough thought but I do see some issues, especially since you said it'll be specifically for PvP.

1. Apart from AS which you really shouldn't use without being Hidden for multiple reasons (firstly foes will be able to interrupt you easily and secondly the damage dealt by it if not used from a 'Hidden' status is only 14.28% of what it would be otherwise) you only have 3 attacks.
In addition there's the fact that relative to powers in other sets with the same damage indication Impale and Ripper deal damage which is floating between 'Moderate' and - as their description does say - 'High' a bit.

This doesn't have to be a problem however since Stalkers generally hit and run, so if a target doesn't die quick enough you'll often break off the attack anyway but it will limit you in case you do want to keep going a bit without hitting Kuji-In Retsu.

2. As mentioned I assume your tactic will generally be to hit and run like most Stalkers - if that is not your intention this build really went the wrong way.
This also means that you're gonna want to remain unseen until you strike for which Hide alone is insufficient at the least.
Any stealth power - be it Stealth or Invisibility from the concealment pool, a Stalker's Hide, Cloaking Device or whatever other power that grants a stealth bonus (not Super Speed since Super Speed's stealth aspect only affects NPC enemies, not other players) - simply adds to the distance between you any other given entity.

Not affected is your absolute or "physical" distance which determines whether or not someone is in range for you to attack, etc...
This second type of distance which stealth powers add to i used to determine whether or not you can be seen.

Every player has a base perception range of 500 ft. meaning that they can detect anyone within a radius of 500 ft. from them.
Hide adds another 500 ft. to your distance meaning that when you stand in front of someone ready to AS him and your about 2 ft. in front of him he can not see you because Hide makes it so that your stealth distance is 2 + 500 = 502 ft. and he can only see upto 500 ft.

However, if you run into someone with Tactics his perception range is 500 + 435 = 935 ft.
Someone with Danger Sense, a power you also plan on getting, has a perception range of 500 + 300 = 800 ft.
Even a simply Insight will add 125 ft to the perception range.

This means you'll have to stay much further away from people and as soon as you get too close, which usually won't take much as most people - especially in PvP - have at least some sort of perception, you'll be spotted.

This problem can be overcome using either Stealth or Invisibility, adding 389 and 611 ft. respectively to your stealth range, in combination with Hide adding a total of 839 or 1111 ft. to your absolute distance.

All that said, let's have a look at your hero plan again.
You planned on getting Stealth and Invisibility at the levels 47 and 49 respectively meaning that of all 4 PvP zones you will have them available in only Recluse's Victory which, in my personal experience on the European Defiant server, is also the least active PvP zone.
In Bloody Bay, Siren's Call and Warburg you can be very easily spotted by litterally anyone.
If not by a toggle or auto power buffing someone's perception, then by the use of a simple Insight.

3. Invoke Panic basically has the same effect as Intimidate, being that it causes a by default 4.7 second fear, however it does this to a whole group.

How often will you find yourself in a group in PvP as a Stalker?
Hopefully not too often or you're doing something wrong.
It it because of this that I would definitely not take Invoke Panic.
Personally I have found the presence pool to be insufficiently rewarding at all to take it but I must say that I can definitely see the use of Intimidate.
When properly slotted Intimidate will only take approximately 15 seconds to recharge which is not much downtime.
Add to this the fact you have two placates, a knockback and an immobilize to cover the downtime and that should give a pretty clear idea why I think you can swap out Invoke Panic for something more useful.

Personally I'd also hate to have Teleport for my travel power but if you don't see any problem in using that I guess what I don't like about it can be overcome, although not by me. ;-)

If you have any questions about certain powers in your build feel free to ask and perhaps I can answer them. :-)

Errr, what exactly does TP have to do with whether or not you can be seen?

And as for the patron powers: apart from Water Spout from Liviathan Mastery which is PBAoE they're all ranged and summomn powers which in my opinion both miss the goal of having a Stalker by a mile.
Ranged powers can be useful if someone manages to flee as his health is close to 0 to finish him off, but not to start off with cause then you can't quickly follow it up with your melee attacks.
Summon powers summon stuff... which blows your cover. :-P

I think the Stalker's patron powers mainly, not entirely but mainly, add some goodies from other ATs to the Stalker, but that is something I honestly can't use.
Myself I made a Stalker because I want to play like a Stalker, I like stealth action, to me it's close up (ranged is possible but they're generally most effective in melee) and quick.

The patron powers for me have no use at all and would be a terrible waste since I can think of much better things to have instead.

(You may conclude that my Stalker build indeed doesn't have any.)

RE: My Spines/Ninjitsu Stalker

I was mainly thinking of taking teleport as my travel power so that I can use teleport foe for pvp and I've never had teleport before but it just looks like fun and I watched a video where a stalker owned in pvp with teleport which he used whenever he started to get ganged which seemed like a good idea.

I've changed by build abit following your tips watcha think of this;

Lvl 1: Hide
Lvl 1: Lunge
Lvl 2: Ninja Reflexes
Lvl 4: Danger Sense
Lvl 6: Assassin's Impaler
Lvl 8: Build Up
Lvl 10: Teleport Foe
Lvl 12: Placate
Lvl 14: Teleport
Lvl 16: Caltrops
Lvl 18: Impale
Lvl 20: Kuji-In Rin
Lvl 22: Stealth
Lvl 24: Invisibility
Lvl 26: Ripper
Lvl 28: Swift
Lvl 30: Health
Lvl 32: Stamina
Lvl 35: Throw Spines
Lvl 38: Kuji-In Retsu
Lvl 41: Blinding Powder
Lvl 44: Kuji-In Sha
Lvl 47: Challenge
Lvl 49: Intimidate

Oh yeah and with teleport you can teleport out of slow which may be usful
