My fantanbulious idea

Before you read remeber these are NOT sugestions for a current GW but a new style altogether.

My fantanbulious idea

As the title states I have just had an idea that needs input. First I will explain, A-net has in a year and a half launches the original Prophecies, developed and released factions and has Nightfall just around the corner, all these can be bought and played for a one time fee (yay) and has made A-net a fast growing success and a rival to pay to play games. Of course you probably all know this but it is important context.

Now I was thinking, most games I have played (single player RTSs mostly) the company in question begins with an idea, launches the game, and brings out a sequel or two with an expansion here and there before moving on to greater things. Now here we have Guild Wars the first and so far only series of a company who has spawned mountains of user suggestions that cannot be implemented due to balance reasons or server space. So why not eliminate balance reasons by lunching a completely news series.

This will attract new costumers who felt uncomfortable buying factions without owning prophecies or who didn’t like the original theme but liked the lack of subscription and game mechanics. What I’m thinking is a game similar to the original GW series but with things other games have that we would like but don’t like the fees,

Races (tengu, dwarves, eittins, charr, whatever) (with or without pros/cons)

Different attribute point system (I was thinking, you chose a primary and secondary attribute you can’t change, and can then spend level points unlocking new attributes in a refundable tiered system or strengthening old ones.),

More levels (maybe don’t really care about this but some do.)

More character specialization (customizable armour/weapons, skills/gear that can only be used with so and so many points in this attribute,)

Things to do either than fighting, say crafting cheap materials or so/so weapons, just small jobs that have benefits, either financial or personal.

Classes like rogue, thief, defender, bard, and others (you decide.)

These changes would have been impossible in the current GW due to server space and game balances. But this way A-net can put this in a new game for the approximate amount of server space and still earn money without a monthly fee.

Also this thread is created to allow others to give constructive ideas/criticisms and help out this idea. If anyone starts that “this won’t work loser” stuff just don’t post (and flamers receive auto-bans of course.) If you have nothing to say then bump (if you want).

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy my first fantanbulious idea. /bow.

I believe it heard this mentioned for chapter 4.

This will fully shutdown your freedom(what makes Gw so great).

It has been explained so many times why it's NOT needed for Gw and yet again you ask for it.

Why would i want to customise the skills only i can use ?

Salvaging is pretty same, no? You can craft materials as well.

Wow, if you cross a thief and a warrior you get yet another pointless class, A Barbarian!

This will never be possible without monthly fee, even you know that.

My final conclusion to your solution: WoW is just your game.

I would like to see a system when you could develop a skill where you can craft items for other players. This would give people another way of making money in the game. They allow alliances to own towns why not allow guilds or individuals to own a merchant, trader etc. and profit from that ownership?

RE: My fantanbulious idea

Great idea, you need to remember the owner of this company is a spawn from World of warcraft team. And guild wars is base on PvP some people may disagree with this statement but you know it is 90 percent accurate.

Yes, there is the area of PvE but as you can see it is limited to killing monsters once you're done all the quests and missions what else can you do with guildwars? hhhhmmmm. nothing!!!

YEs, there is this super lame title B.S. thing, where you can see some people trying to complete and you can only turn on one of the title at one time so whats the use of it, please someone explain it to me, anet your killing me, ha, ha ha..

but with your idea, anet will then need to add more feature like crafting, fishing, smithing so on... but overall at least it is way better than the super LAME title.

RE: My fantanbulious idea

I honestly think the main things GW is missing right now is this:

Auction House
Uppgradable Storage (more slots)

mainly those two things. and if we wanna have some more pve fun, I think it would be nice if people could make weapons, armor etc, and mix and match different pre-made parts to make new looking armor. This would give armor even more of an individuality. And prices would vary depending on the person making it etc. But thats just caus I love armor LOL. anyways, those are my 2 main longings in gw beside the armor :P

I mean you could refund every attrib exept the first twp primary ones to help keep a sense of character individuality.

I meant only people with say, 5 points in some atrribute and use this skill/gear and you could customise armour/weapons. Notice the comma.

RE: My fantanbulious idea

No i dont like most of the ideas you just mentiod. If a-net passed these ideas Gw is going to look like WoW. A few ajustments is okey maybe some new races i dont know how this can be inplented and that job thing is fun too. But Gw is is great as it is now and i dont like wow so leave gw as it is :D.
