I downloaded World of Warcraft but it has to do some update thing and the estamated time was about 3 hours and I was just wondering if it takes this long for most people

1st off Welcome to the WoW side of Gameamp, Sacred Hero!
As for the update. WoW has had patches like CoH did. You are just catching up on all the patches that have been released over the last year. And depending on your internet connection this can be a very long process. I think it took me around 2 hours to get all of the updates downloaded.

If you download from blizzard, ya it will take that long. If you download somewhere else like xfire, it will take a lot less....

yeah it takes a while.
If you have a router firewall up, enable port forwarding for the blizzard downloader, makes it go a lot faster, but it's still slow.
Remember, you have something like 6 million people trying to download the same file.
