I had nothing to do yesterday so I decided to do some experiments.
The game: With my MM, I was at Zen Daijun helping people with mission and/or cap son. I would advertise the following line:
"20 MM helping with mish/cap son, tips appreciated but NOT req"
The experiment: How many people would tip? How much?
Total # of runs: 13
Total # of people helped: 51 (rest were hench and midgame drops)
The result:
# of people who tipped: 11
people who tipped > 500: 3
people who tipped < 100: 4 (one of em gave me 3g)
# of people who said 'thanks' and w/e: 39 (this might not be exactly accurate)
===============
Experiment #2 (done last week)
Game: same as previous, except this time I advertise
"20 MM helping BROKE ASS NOOBS with mish free! If you're a NOOB and ur BROKE, get in here!"
upon entering my team. Ill ask each person to confirm that they are indeed a "NOOB". If they refuse Ill kick.
Experiment:
free runs given: 5
people helped: ? (didnt record... but I estimate around 21-22ish )
people who insisted on tipping at the end: 5
people who tipped > 500: 3
people who tipped < 100: 1
people who left group and called me a noob: 7
fav lines:
"I beat the game 3 times noobie"
"I'll kill you in 1 v 1"
So some interesting numbers. Thats it folks and look for me in Zen Daijun runs! (as Seven De Vir)

actually for the second experiment. I was purposely intending for people to throw away their pride to get a free run. I knew some were indeed not NOOBs but hey, if they say they are they could save themselves 500-1k from the other runners.
Spend money just to keep your in game pride? Haha, not very clever imo.

I have to say a very nice experiment and well thought of, but maybe you could display some conclusions, random numbers dont show much if you were to say that if you ask for tips etc. you get more, a few more experiments you could try are:
1.Just saying helping for free, then asking for tips at then end and seeing how many tips you get
2.Just do it totally for free and dont ask for tips at the end
3.Say helping for mission for X amount of money PM me and seeing if anyone tips extra
And with all of the above and the previous ones you could time how long it took to find a party, from your first advert if you lead.
