Steve Erwin, better known as the Crocodile Hunter, died tonight while filiming a new episode. He was attacked by a sting ray. The wound was so near his heart that the venom killed him almost instantly.
We will all miss this guy. He tempted fate regularly and always won. Until now.

Somehow, im sure somehow, at some point in time we all predicted his end would be by a poisionus animal...But still he was both brave and awesome. Rest in peace, Mr. Irwin you shall be missed.

Steve was the greatest! It is a real shame he has passed on. And no, I'm not suprised at all at how he went. I'm sure that's how he would have perfered it.
That's just so sad!

Steve Irwin was a great guy. He saved a lot of animals in his lifetime and paved the way for many more to be saved. His somewhat strange and crazy antics brought much needed attention to the environment and creatures that needed help. We all got a lot of amusement out of the Crocodile Hunter parodies, but this is a sad day. As nuts as some of the stuff he did was, his death will be a huge blow to the ecosystem down there. That stingray got him so close to the heart because it was such a big target. My sympathies go out to his wife and daughter, who have lost a great great man.

Oh man, I was gonna come on here saying 'No he isn't, where's the link for proof... this is just like that rumor that went around about how he was bit by a venomous snake out in no where and died.' But boy I would of really ate those words...
The News Article...
Wow, I can't believe he really is dead. I mean... he's the freaking Croc hunter, he isn't suppose to die! Man, his wife and kids... what little of a heart I got left goes out to them.
Warning, my stories and blog is not meant for those who are easily offended. If you are one of them, then avoid the link, you wussies.

Actually from what I just heard on Good Morning America he was in the process of filming a documantary on the Great Barrier Reef when the stingray stung him. Although his show on animal channel is rerunning Croc Files I still watch the show ocassionally. My sympathy goes out to his wife and children and to the cast and crew of the Croc Files, and all the people he has touched across the world.[/QUOTE]

Mad props to the croc hunter on going out in style. It's truly sad that he is gone, and I remember watching him on T.V. quite often. I empathize for his wife and kids, and wish they wouldn't have had to experience those feelings.

strange thing is, all I can think of is the south park parody... "Im gonna shove my thumb, right up its bumhole, that should really piss it off."
To steve, a man who brought us to thinking that the problems with nature wasn't it attacking us, but us going into its territory and thinking we owned it.
Rest easy, you touched and taught millions and made a hellava difference.
