| Can I run guildwars on satilite internet ? |

The title pretty much says it all i'm finding it pretty hard to run guildwars on satelite internet so... I was wondering if any one on here is running it on Satelite before i end up giving up on this great game.

Wow, I wish I could say yes or no-definitely. I know of no one who has a satellite connection. I know some have dial-up and still are able to play.
To make a guess, yes. Since satellite is an inherently better connextion than dial-up.

Yes, you can play GW, though it is not recommended to play GW over anytpe of wireless network, including Satilite.

Not for gaming... Satellite internet suffers from high latency due to the distance signals need to travel (up to the sat and back down again) and the (usually) different pathing for upload/download (down is sat, up is usually across a dial-up).
In other words ... yes, you can probably play. However be aware that the chances of experiencing lag and/or dropouts are a lot higher with satellite. I wouldn't recommend it, but if it's your only choice :(.

I am from Canada and I use satellite internet. I have no problems what so ever and it never disconnects on me or nothing. The download speeds are sporadic though as one area might download quickly but the next area will take forever to load. Hope this helps.

Ok thanks for your guys help. I would h8 to bring this old topic back up but i have one more question about this, the satelite internet is only a few ticks slower than my old Roadrunner highspeed internet, but I cannot get connected to Anet... I have just recently gone to stay with a family member of myn and he is has highspeed internet it has been so long since i have played that it took an hour to download all the updates and things, i figured that was the problem and when i got back it would actually try to connect but it didnt... So does anyone have any advise for me?

hm,, my best guess would be that you need to change your proxies/fire walls, but im not really sure as im more of a hardware person rather then software

yes you can run off satalite thats what im running off of i never had to change any proxies or anything just connect and go but you do get lag sometimes and cut off if the weather is bad but other than that its fine ....
