Ok so it is Monday, right after lunch and a guildy asked me to help at Boreas seabed, I say no problem, will get monk (as there seem to be a shortage)
So we gather a group
2 ranger (my guildy and another one)
2 monks
1 mesmer
1 necro
1 tank
1 assassin
But here where it gets bad
1 try after the gate they decide to run along the wall to meet up the first mob while the 2 monks are in the middle near spear ?
We try our best to heal but it brings us in middle of combat
(needless to say we failed)
2 try buddy monk and I convinced them to go middle, they agree, so there we do the 3 mobs a few death (me for one cause I kept the tank alive at the cost of my life). So they all are cheering how great they are and all that so we gather spear and move on
. Brother this was brutal. We defeated the wallow the guardian and naga, with somewhat of a challenge cause one of the ranger (not my guildy the other) kept calling on his pet to come back to life (he had not packed charmed animal) other monk and I were hard press to keep tank and the balance of group alive,,, so a few death later it is done, we make way to go toward the mission end, and what do I see petless ranger going and aggroing a mob that we did not even have to go and fight, so petless ranger dies and goes on saying how bad we monk were
raised the bunch move on down and buddy does something aggroing everything
Well to make a long story short, I think you get the gist of it
Failed a 2nd time so after they raved how bad we were, both monks bade them a farewell and we turned around made a group and went off to get masters
So sorry about this I just wanted to get it out there part of a therapy so to speak
So please people know that monks have feeling too

you need to do that mission with my alliance and I :P a couple of TC members (3) and I henched it and beat it in under 15 min or so ... got the Masters reward and everything (had masters from before) ... but yea, its the fastest I ever did the mission, never had any complications or anything either. I hardly ever do Pugs any more... they just arent worth it.

it sounds like you just had a total noob group dont take it personally, they are the people who believe its the monks job to follow you into the middle of a huge mob after youve used sprint to get into the middle then activated frenzy and heal sig

If you had two monks and the group kept dying there awas one of two problems. Either the monks really sucked (i doubt it) or the rest of the group didn't have a clue. A good group should be able to get masters on that mission easily with only one monk if they know what they are doing.
Sorry to hear about your experience, but the first time someone insults me as I run a monk I quit healing them. I would rather have a mission fail then help that type of person. I get sick of jerks like that. If i screw up then that's a different story, but then again I am the first one to call myself out if I screw up.

i know that they have feeling (i started one and love the monk :))
And in the first mission in prob (great northern wall) there was a warrior lvl 6. He ran into all the fights and i heal him the whole mission.
Now, in ranik we started the mission with the same party and the warrior ran in all the fights to. but he was further then us and he died.
When he dies he keeps saying he was the best and i was a bad monk (if he was waiting for us i had a chance to heal him).
well that was my ranik adventure with the ***warrior

You're absolutely right but, because of the job that the monk does they naturaly get the blame when some numpty gets himself killed. I suppose it goes woth the territory, and i'ts only those who have experiance of monking that understand they can't save everyone.
Anyway, the monks can't be to blame on that mission, cos it's one of the easiest in factions. All u need is to interupt Argo and the big thing at the end, and any Ranger worth his salt will take at least 1 cap sig to get Broadhead Arrow (a second if they also need Barrage!) which is the perfect interupt for those 2.

i also play monk and get blamed quite a bit. in arborstone for instaance i haven't played that mission for ages but i played it and when you beat the guys at the end those huge gargoyle thingys come up,at the tiem i didn't know that happened so everyone was cheering then the guys came up they were like "wtf!!!!" and they died then we got back into town and they all left but said that i was the noobiest monk ever. even tho througout the mission only 1 guy died, and he left soon after. i enjoy playing monks sometimes as i get bored of warrior hacking and slashing.

i only have one word for this.....
selfhealing
people should understand that monks dont have an infinite energypool and that they can't heal every1 at the same (unless u use lod or heal party).
personally when there is a human monk in the group i ask him if he would call his energy when it is low so that the rest of the team can heal themselfs if they need to.
you always have these people that call u a noob if they die. just ignore them and concentrate on the more important people on your team.
i sometimes have that problem with my cousin when he's dying. i just tell to shut up or i wont heal him anymore (and it helps).
and remember have fun it's a game.

they are usually the ones who suck the energy out of the monks, if you leave them dead you'll have more energy to deal with the rest of the team.
an organised team can blitz even the toughest areas but if you get 1 fool who thinks they can take on the world then your monks are gonna suffer.

wow off topic:lately there have been allot of renewed posts which are a year old or so...on topic:wow that guy was such a (excuse me for saying it) a fucking bastard...i h8 those kinda pps they 1. bring the motiivation of the team down 2.ruin the whole thing3. get gr8 rivals!

Your lucky with 2 monks even, try to be the only monk and heal a whole team of people who don't seem 2 know monks NEED energy and we don't have as many as Elems do. It was such a pain in the ass x.X.
In the end i had to give up(was the only one alive as well(as a monk)). Some people need to study monks before they can complain about us, at least, that is what i believe
