| Balth Faction as a mark of experience. |

Everybody knows the fame system is corrupt since its not a real show of pvp experience.
Balthazar faction on the other hand IS a mark of pvp experience but is not viewable by anybody but yourself.
How about combine the 2 such that for every 250 balthazar faction you earn, your fame goes up by 1.
Lets imagine this:
Rank | Fame | Emote | Balth Faction req (if pure)
1 | 25 | None | 6250
3 | 180 | Deer | 45000
6 | 1000 | Wolf | 250000
etc etc. Of course, you would still be able to use Heroes Ascent to help boost it up but imo Balthazar Faction is a much better indicator of skill than whether they have a title or not.
In this way, people can build up skill in other areas before going to HA and still be accepted since they can prove their experience. Also, people who do HA a lot will get a bonus since they get +fame for each win.

Nice idea but I disagree. Fame/rank is a mark of winning games. Balthazaar shows that you have done a lot of something. That could be random arenas (not really that competitive), zaishen challenge and elite challenge (both give faction), scrimmage *it gives faction and xp i think) etc etc..
Basically what I'm saying is, although it's a nice idea, and I agree getting into the whole fame/rank thing is difficult, balthazaar wouldn't really be a suitable comparison due to the ability to grind it without actually being any good at pvp.

Woah if that was true I'd have a wolfy :)
Instead of giving you Fame, I think it should you a title or something instead, or possibly even a new emote thats different from the Rank emotes.

You get just as many good people in there and just as many bad people...

scrap the balth faction they give you, give +1 of the relevant faction and make a faction skill trainer where an elite wld be 10k to unlock for the character + pvp, and 3k for a normal
EDIT: that wld be for aspenwood/quarry. For zaishen stuff, just scrap the faction - theyre npcs, they shldnt give faction.

Yes, all the people i play with wld have wolf or above (including me).
Also, with this system, R12 wld take 5,400,000 balthazar faction if the player doesnt do HA. A person with that much wld be very experienced.

Still inclined to disagree I'm afraid. Being awesome at random arena does not make you good at HA. Have a rank 7 GvG team does not make you good at HA, because the style of play and tactics invovled are significantly different.
I do think it might be nice to have a balthazaar related title, as it is still an achievement getting a lot of it, just not to use it for getting into HA groups. It could of course be a consideration and would probably help if you wanted to get into a pvp guild or something.
It's not that I don't not like the idea, it's the logistics of it :P

But on the same note, not having R3 doesnt make you bad. And having R7 doesnt make you better than somebody with R5. Balthazar is a overall experience rating encompassing arenas, HA and GvG. Also, most of the top GvG guilds win HA a lot too (RenO, WM, etc).

And here we get into a sticky circle...that an awesome r3 will get dropped before an average r7.
/sigh - it's all too complicated for little me.

It would probably be best to get rid of ANY of it, just so it's more fair. because it's pretty unfair as it is, with the r3 vs r7 that you mentioned. Ah well thats why I never HA x.x

None of the factions weither Balths, Luxs, or Kurs would really show if anyone is good cause all anyone has to do is join a battle and let the rest of their team win and they get free factions. As long as people can leech factions they really don't prove anything. Also there are new PVP players all the time that are better than seasoned players and just cause they haven't been playing PVP to get the factions they would be looked at as poor players.
I'm neither here nor there but everywhere. I am who I am and nothing more but yet I'm nothing less than what I strive to be.
