Why does no one use Monk E

i almost never see Mo/e in Guild wars and im woundering why. I mean if used right you can heal forever and energy is never a problem.

the big reason people dont look at builds like these is that most people stick with what they know and every time the question is asked "whats the best secondary for a monk" the usual responce is mesmer.

This is a good build. I think ill give it a try.

Also another good build is M/R with melandrus resilance and drawl conditions. I have a screen shot of a degener where I have 10 pips of hp regen and 10 pips of energy regen.

I actually use to use a version of that build when i frst started Monking. But teh build I use know has worked perfectly for me now. ^^

Really I mean more people need to use monk/ele since the signets that the ele get aloow for ur healing spells to work better.

I have to disagree, I don't think there is a "best" secondary for any class. I can think of many situations where I would like to have a secondary rather than mesmer.

I've known about that build and have used it before. But I prefer using Peace & Harmony. It's perfect for how I monk, the Divine Boon Spammer is a bit too much energy management.

With this build, it is all about timing. I hardly ever have any energy problems with this build. I went through all of Cantha with this build, so it should be pretty good for anyhting. :) Though like I said, it is timing, and that is important.

travel around the crystal desert and you will find a town or 2 with a VERY high mo/e population, must be a farming spot.It almost looks like droks theres so many monks going in and out.
Before the bot crackdown i spotted some malfunctioning mo/e monkbots in the desert, they would run to the merchant, then run to the sign by the portal, then back to the merch, then back to the sign, they were still there doing this hours later, 4 of them with names like Love Apple One, Love Apple Two, Love Apple Three, etc lol

Why ain't people trying out E/Mo instead =O ?

since you have energy storage + skils like ether prodigy, ether boon etc, you can spam out heal other and jameis gaze all the time!

It works really gr8 for me, only problem is sometimes to get groups, not all ppl believe that a ele can heal =P

Not many use this build because they have to go all the way to the fire islands, which not all have made. And not many canthan monks(like mine) bother to do all the missions and stuff to get there, it just takes too long time. But it's a great (the healing one) build, I use it in RA =)

The Mo/e build for ghail is a 55 varient. It uses the following skills

Protective Spirit

Healing breeze
Mending
Bal's Spirit
Windborne Speed
Sliver Armor
Glyph of concentration
Blessed Aura

Use 5 Sup runes
Set up the attributes as you see fir but since sliver armor is the damage dealer so make sure you have enough points in Earth.

Basically the tactic is as follows
run all the way there (lol), use windborne speed to break aggro. Be careful as your are vunrable to more then 6-7 attackers at once since you are not using guardian and conjure flame makes it so every hit counts twice.
Use glyph of concentration to cast your spells (so mesmers can't interupt).

When you get to ghail run up to him and cast sliver armor, this will kill him in about 2 casts. Constantly spam the glyph and you spells, the bonus healing for divine favor actually keeps you alive as your regen can't counter all the damage you are taking. Hope this works for you. I gave up after killing Ghail over 30 times and not having his staff drop (and that was borken up over time).

Oops Thanks for the correction been a while since i played it. Sliver armor is an earth spell and not an elite.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt sliver armor a earth spell? =O
And it's not an elite either... as far as I remember

Ok heres why:

I like the Renewal Divine build but thats only good at places like Kryta, ascalon, and some other noob islands and certain places. You know why?

When you get farther in the game such as Thunderhead keep or Ring of Fire they have this... "Strip Enchanment" and stuff. Well think about it. If someone Strips you're Divine Spirit then you're dead. yep, no more energy management for a good 15 seconds.

Now thats why people use Boon Prot or Boon Heal at GvG, AvA, mostly PvE.

Sure, you have thingies called strip enchantments, but that doesn't make the whole build go down, energy still isn't a major problem, since they all are 5 energy spells. The only difference is that you cant spam them the same way, you need to heal a bit "wiser".

15 seconds without that energy management isn't as crucial as you say, and you sure as hell won't die from it =)

I use Mo/E all the time but it's not for healing.. i combine all the low cost spells from monk and one element (usually air) for some smiting fun. Although i havent gotten this combo down 100% yet since i want to find a way to keep my energy high and cooldowns low so i'm still working on the order. Although i have messed around with AoE Mo/E smiter that uses earth and it worked out decently. I'll admit it did not have the same effectivness as an ele AoE but it did let me hench quests and get from A-B without having to get in a group because i can only heal.. and it did get me through a few missions when people only wanted bonus or wanted to wait 3 hours for that "perfect team"

Hey Kanna, I use the same build now, except I use Holy Viel for Hex removal and Dwyana's Kiss instead of Ethereal light. For that open spot I bring Glyph of Lesser energy so I can get a free Heal Party every 30 seconds.

i like my build the best, i dont need to spam heal spells because its just dont needed, and when i need it to do, i do and and dont got energy probs. basic of the build is: WoH orison healing touch(for self heal). thats all i need for kepping a party alife in abbadons mouth

I have tried out a few different monk builds, and yes this one is very effective. I prefer to use Mo/Me for boon healing/protecting. I use Mantra of recall for energy management and I never have a problem maintaining my energy. I have had other monks complain that they dont have anything to do.

.. actually this is a very old build, i used it very long time ago when i was starting as a monkie.

The main reason u dont see Mo/Ele very often is because for this build u need 2 energy management skills !! So, in the other hand u have for example Mo/Me where u just need one.. its all about how u can handle your energy and learn to avaluate allies health and dont (as u said) spam skills !!

.. learn how to play with any Monk build is always a must.

To be honest i never actually put energy management skills in my monk for PvE since you rarely need to spam heals.. Usually with max healing and divine you can heal for 20-30% of the bar with 1 spells so as long as you cast 1 spell every time they hit that -30% mark and with the recharge rate of the skill, by the time you cast it again you only use 1 energy. For PvP though yeah... i see why people take Mo/Me or Mo/E rather than just plain healing..

i have a mo/e for ds heal or prot spam, it works nice, and if i dont want to be E anymore ill just change it to ME for boon prot, i just swap ME and E as secondary all teh time. but i have to say that i like E more in pve cos of the NRG

Hmmm...probally because not many people see Mo/E's running around in PVE, so they don't think they will work. With my monk I go Mo/N or Mo/Me, but rarely us any skills of the secondary prof. Usually just use low cost healing spells combined with high divine favor does the trick, but for PVP I can see the use. I guess it is a mater of choice. Just go with what ever works for you.
