I don't really know much about getting one, (Never ran my own site b4, heh) but I know they do rock, I think they would be an awesome feature to have.
Thoughts?? Comments??

IRC chat is great for your SG or your group of friends. But it can't really work for GameAmp as a whole.
One of the problems is that it is impossible to moderate. Unless we have dedicated staff that is on it 24/7. Although we love gameamp, we still need a life and time to play the game :)
The other issue is that it is passing info. It is meaningless to log and post all IRC chat since it will be too much chatter, and nobody will actually sift through it. So that means maybe very handy tips and advice are given to just the people that were on at that time. On the forum you can read it three hours later and still be on topic.
Although I love IRC channels, and I appreciate you bring it up, I am almost 100% sure you won't see a gameamp IRC channel.

Like Phe said, IRC is cool, but it would just be to much work for us to get one for Gameamp. Sorry, but we just don't have to staff to moderate something like that, and the staff we do have work really hard on getting the site up to date.
