Hi. This is my first post on GameAmp since joning last week. I have been playing CoV as a Mastermind for 4 months now.
What I am noticing in team play is the team zones in
together, which is great, but then once inside, run ahead to the mobs and attack while the Masterminds are still summoning and powering up their pets. In another game I played, players instinctivly waited for everyone to be ready even if it took 2 and a half minutes to buff. Since there are rarely timers on regular missions, not counting Mayhems in this, I am curious to why there is such a rush to get started and leave players at the door? Is this just how it is?

First off, I would like to Un-Welcome you to the Gameamp site Tiffany Lane. Glad you stopped in and dropped us a line.
Well, this is a very hard question to answer as everyone plays differently and have different views on things. Usually I find that some players just like to get in and start womping on things (regardless of AT). While some will wait for everyone to get ready.
My stance is, I like to wait for everyone to get ready so we all can attack together. Now, if there is someone on the team (and if it's a PUG there is at least one in the bunch) I'll just sit back and take my time and let them do all the work. Now, the first time they get face planted and complain, I politely let them know they chose to rush in without anyone else and if they couldn't handle the mobs, then they may want to wait for everyone to get ready.
Now, in saying that, I don't team up much. Especially with my MM. I have a Corruptor that I like to team up with the VG i'm in (they rock :) thank you ViV!).
If you are looking for some realiable teammates that are willing to wait for you, I'd say join our in-game chat channel, Gameamp.com. We have members on all the servers so you should be able to connect with someone every so often. Triumph is also the official server of Gameamp and we have a VG as well. So if you want to check that out, just let one of the Staffers know ingame and we can get you an invite.

I have this happen a lot too (I've long since given up throwing shields on my Mercs as well as upgrading them, both for time reasons, and because in a team it rarely matters), but I don't mind. Why do people team mostly? Isn't it to basicly cut through hordes of enemies like a machine, raking in exp and cash? By the time you get your squad up and armed, the brutes, stalkers and corrupters will have cleared the first spawn or two, and probably be a bit hurt. That's when you come running in to reinforce them. The MM Cavalry so to speak. And you'll still be getting the exp and such from what they kill, so it's not a big deal.
When you solo as a MM, do you feel frustrated sometimes that it takes longer to equip than to finish a mission? Personally, I wouldn't want to put team mates through that, so I just let the psycho-killers go off and do their thing while I gear up.
The other option is to skip equipping and go with them. Just keep throwing equips during the first fight or two, and you won't get left behind. With a team, your henchmen don't need to be maxed out from the beginning anyway.

First off, Un-Welcome to the site!!!
Yeah, I am on Saturn's view at it, just summon them all (Which takes probably as much time for everyone to turn their armors on and their toggles) Then just start throwing out the Equips, starting with the Top guy, and working your way down, then you don't miss any of the fighting.

I normally will wait for everyone, no matter what AT they are. but i seem to have an unusually fast log time, and most that play dont. It sucks as a brute, who is a wreckin machine all his own, to wait for everyone to even get to the mission and then wait for buffs and summons. i just storm to the first mob knowing my teamates are going to be there any minute, and i never have a problem. waiting 6-7 min. seems to wear on me when the only thing your suppose to do is get xp and infamy. i dont want to get bored waiting for everyone, which seems to happen quite frequently.

A difficult question as BishopDon noted. My overly simplified explanation? Impatience seems to be a common personality trait of many of the gamers that I've encountered during my relatively brief time playing MMOs. Yes, I realize that this is a generalization, and as such it isn't perfectly accurate, but it does fit with my own personal experiences. In a way it seems to be built into the experience of the game. One of the reasons (I think) that many people enjoy video games in general is the instant gratification aspect of it. Effort is met with reward on a very short scale...you don't have to work for months or years to see the fruits of your "labor". Kills, experience gain, infamy, leveling up, badges, you can jump right in and get them all relatively quickly. That is, games like these do manage to provide an environment that does not (as many other areas of life do) discourage or frustrate those who don't like to wait.
In other words, my take is that there will always be people who will do this, period. Although all of us are drawn to these games, patient and impatient alike, I do believe that games such as these provide a uniquely rewarding experience for those who just can't seem to stop themselves from plowing on ahead, and find standing around for a few minutes waiting on others to be a painful exercise. I think the suggestions made above are excellent - let them get themselves into trouble (if it comes to that), just get set up at your own pace and enjoy the free experience, and try to find a group of players out there who will let you summon/buff before diving into the fray. Really, those are the best approaches to adapting to this particular problem, in my opinon.
Sorry for the length of my response :/

I personally have no qualms with people rushing ahead while I'm still setting up. Either they die because of their stupidity or I get some free experience from it. It's a win-win situation either way.

As being an experienced mastermind like Mzzkc i just equip and not talk. I completely agree with Mzzkc on his point, its their loss to wait on our pwning weapons to come out, theyre just askign for death if they fight on a huge relentless mission with enemies like Malta without the masterminds on the team being ready. Also, i just catch up with the group if they get ahead of me. Well, theres my point...
