Your choice determines your fate

You walk into an office. There is a container of sorts with candy on it on top of the counter or desk. how many of you simply reach over and get candy and how many of you ask if you can have candy. and how many of you walk into the office just to get the candy and then walk out.

I am a polite Canadian. I always ask before taking something off someones desk/counter. Even after I have already been told I can help myself...

well i can acutualy tell the truth... i am on of the guys that ask before i take somthing... allthough i was told that i can just take what i want.. i still ask, and some of my friends thinks its annoying... BUT hey i was raised in a probber manner... (BTW/.. sorry for my english, and my bad spelling... but i am right now setting up an party... and i got some bears inside allready... but i could not help and se this site when i was browsing the web... and HELL YEAH its cool... thanks for somthing too distract me from the stress of setting up and party... THANKS!) btw im from denmark/soenderborg,,, where most of the good guys come from :)... keep it going

ASK?? What the hell is wrong with you people??

If it's out on the desk, it's obviously free for the taking!

However, what I generally do is go out to the store and replenish said bowl by surprise when the proprietor of the desk is away or not looking. :)

As such, I giveth and taketh away!

well as a teenager I had a job that involved cleaning up businesses....and at one of them there was candy on one of the desks so I took a peice. I was then immeadiatly fired....

So ya I would definitely ask before I ran in and stole the candy...

Wow...tough spot on getting fired, but if you're there to clean, then touching _anything_ at the business you're at is generally a bad idea.

Anyways...

One of the last places I worked, one of the guys had a frog that would "ribbit, ribbit" every time someone opened it up for candy, and everyone got a hell of a laugh out of it. It also allowed us to find out who was pigging out. :)

Hrm...anyone remember the fat guy who was always taking food from the fridge and getting tackled by Terry Tate in the 2003 Reebok promotion? "I'll give you a piece of PAIN cake, and you WON'T want seconds of that!!"

uhm what i useally do is when there not looking i get like 5 handfuls and shove em in my pockets and hope they dident notice, hey its there fault shouldent have left it out infront of me :D*reaches into his pocket for some candy*

dude you rule. heh heh. i did that today....take a piece of candy i mean. i went to an apartment office and while waiting i noticed a bowl of candy. there was A&W rootbeer barrels (those rule) and i wanted one. i hesitated. and i wanted to ask but she kept talking and then left to the other room. that's when i went in for the kill. i zeroed my sights on that sweet baby and nabbed it. Sarrana had people doing that to her all the time, she kept candy on her desk for the kids in here work place, but unfortunatly it was adults swiping the stuff...so she got a bunch of the super sour sour gum balls and put them on her desk.

And when i was in the military i had people swiping my food all the time with out asking, i would bring it in and put it in the fridge and someone would take it, there was on 9 of us out where i was at a time and no one fessed up, so i made "special" chocolate chip cookies and put a note on the can " Don't F'ing touch these or you will be sorry" went on duty came back and 3/4 were gone. They had to get a replacement for the guy cause an entire package of chocolate exlax is NOT a good thing to eat (I did warn him) So ya i would ask first

well if they're there at the desk then I ask... if there's a lid on the jar, I ask... but if no ones tehre to ask and thres no lid on the jar.... it's mine... Open jars are open invitations. Even if they're on the phone there's usually some way that you can ask them without interrupting their phone call... you know pointing to the jar and shrugging... or picking up a piece and looking at them pleadingly... you know... there's SOME way to ask.

And this comming from a rude American ;)... then again I'm in Ohio so I'm practicaly in Canada... lovely country... must visit again sometime... maybe to ski... hum...
