Ok now let's coem up with some speculations for nightfall. I haven't seen to many threads on this lately. These are cool new thing's that I think will be in nightfall.
Pet's
Big snakes
Lions
Hyena's/wild dogs
Weapons
Crossbow's(rangers)
Green dragon swords(im weilding venomy dragon sword! FTW)
Event's
an economy crash(which means a killin for me like last time woot)
A sudden pvp character creation boost
They will fix the storage sytem so i can hold my armor in there.
That's what i think now you go.

I like the idea of crossbows.
Maybe it could be combined with a ranger offhand? like a quiver or something.

Yeah Crossbows would be cool and how about something big and beefy for a pet - Rhino or elephant anyone?

Though I doubt it would be seen, I'd love to see armor storage. THough I don't know how it would be implimented.
As for what I think we will see, as for Pets, I think you will see Lions forsure, since it is an African theme. ^^ As for others, perhaps you could see another form of a Raptail, either Lizard or Snake. I'd also love to see somekind of Tarantula. ^^
A crossbow type weapon does sound rather nice. I would also love to see different "Dragon Swords". Since we have a new "Dark God", why not a Shadowy Dragon Sword? I love the idea of killing something with a weapon that has Fog for a blade. xD

Well i think either 2 things will happen. Either they will take the formula from the last 2 GW titles and apply it to a new area with a new plotline.. in which case we will see new pets, new areas, new weapons, new quests and missions and 2 new classes with a small skill update for the rest..
Or they will try something new and introduce new concepts to the game to increase it's depth or new things to do after you finish the game or hit lvl 20 other than farming.
For example: Something like better crafting abilities. Yes you have crafters that can make stuff from your parts but the parts are easy to come by and the weapons are pretty poor in quality. So for those of us who hate to run SF and FoW over and over and over for that perfect green or gold there should be another option. If they take the idea of crafting from WoW but modify it to GW standards, non-farmers can have a bit of fun too. Let me explain.
You take a crafter and place him in an FoW like area. Then you have him craft for you nice decent gold weapons from mats found all over the place. From the start of post-searing to the last area. Then he crafts it for you for a relativly cheap price. Not 1.5M but like 15k. Then make the weapons customized of course add the + that comes with customization. This way you have players that can obtain the mats through quests or maybe through minimal farming and they can get a rare weapon and get that sense of accomplishment without spending 4 hours a day running FoW and UW over and over and over.
Small things like that would really increase the things a player can do in GW other than just power farm and PvP. and it wont give one player an edge over another because the items arent going to be uber-expensive.
Personally i would like to see the latter but thats just me.

I suspect that for now they'll have new pets, areas, maybe a new Realm of the Gods (Realm of Torment sounds to me like an UW/FoW-type area, maybe from Lyssa's realm since it could be a chaotic place), and just generally the same thing as Prophecies was on a somewhat smaller scale.
An idea I had a while back that's similar in some ways to Nihil's is this: "red" weapons. These weapons are cheap and easy to acquire, being either drops from bosses in the starter region or being a couple hundred gold from crafters in the starting town, are unmoddable, and begin with no requirement, minimum damage, deal untyped or chaos damage (meaning no armor boosts vs. physical or vs. elemental will effect them initially), and have no bonuses whatsoever. They won't even have a weapon type (meaning they aren't swords, axes, hammers, wands, bows, staves, daggers, or whatever). However, as you use them, this changes.
The idea is that red weapons grow and change as you use them. If your swordsmanship stat is high, the weapon's damage type will convert to slashing and it will begin having a swordsmanship requirement, as well as becoming a sword for skill purposes. If your Fire Magic stat is high, it will become a Fire Wand or Fire Staff (depending on whether or not you typically use an offhand or not), and if you consistently have high Marksmanship, it will become a bow. Furthermore, if you are constantly enchanted, the weapon will grow a bonus while enchanted; if hexed, it will become while hexed. If you're always stealing life from opponents, the weapon will become a Vampiric weapon, while the use of many adrenal attacks will create a Furious weapon, and so on and so forth for the various other weapon mods and bonuses.
Now, when the weapon is equipped and an enemy nearby dies, the weapon itself will gain experience. As the weapon gains experience, its damage rating increases towards the maximum for its weapon type, bonuses and mods appear on it depending on what skills you've favored, and it will slowly become a perfect weapon depending on how you've leveled it up. And, of course, you'd have some neat skin style for these weapons since making a perfect one will take time and effort and then you'd be able to sell it or keep it for use.
Basically, these red weapons are living items that grow with you. I've always kind of liked that idea; weapons bound to the wielder that develop alongside them. And, since it does take a long time to make these perfect weapons, it wouldn't unbalance anything (since you could make something with the same stats by buying mods and modding a collector weapon) but they'd be cheap and would allow for someone who put a lot of effort into raising a powerful weapon to make good money.
Sounds good to me.

I think it would be cool if skills like this were made.
Ele:
Skills that combined magic like water and fire would be geyser.
Monk:
sacrafice urself to fully heal all allies, and cure all conditions.
Necro:
U and ur oppenent bleed for 30 seconds, when this spell ends ur opponent becomes allied to u(PvE only)
Assassin:
Summon an exact replica of u. This summon deals no damage and can only lose health from magic attacks.
Thats just me tho ;)

They seem to always nerf the farming. This is one thing I think is dispicable. I like farming, gives you something to do when your guildies are not on. Seems like ANet has something against it, so I exspect nerfage of the farming in every update.

hmm? someone say something?
I dont think ANet is against farming in general. i think they are against power farming which is solo farming for 5-8 hours a day in the same area. And bot farming which is farming with a..bot. Unfortunatly such acts exist and although the former isnt against the EULA it does make the game unfair for those who farm 1 hour a day or dont farm at all..unfortunatly to curb that and bot farming..anet has to keep nerfing farming.

I dont think they really like the powerfarming it does give an unfair edge sometimes to players who have more freetime or patience, but i think they will give some alternate ways to make money and other things to do besides farm from what ive heard the heros and some other little mini games will keep it more interesting and make farming less apealing

I hope that they allow all Tyrian and Canthan elite's to be captured in Nightfall, for example a necro in Cantha can't catch (nearly any) of the good elites, and ones that are used for pvp. :( No wither, SS, Life Transfer, Order of the Vamp.....e.t.c....
This is my old account.

Should clarify,
I would farm probibly a total of 4 hours a week. I Hate trying to sell items with my extra time, and have no interest in pvp play, strickly a pve guy. I understand that bot farming is not a good thing and frankly has never crossed my mind. Still in Nightfall I would like to see a few things to do soloish. If I remember correctly the economy seemed just fine preFactions. Even with people farming the desert, doing rune runs and UW with a 55&SS. Weapons still had value, some good high value runes still existed, and it still took forever to get FoW Armor. Now there are far to many greens, unless you have a sundering what ever of fortitude gold it really is not worth much, and the runes are almost a joke now. I did not see the harm to the game economy due to a little farming that occured due to the changes made with the onset of Factions.

First on-topic
I think it would be cool to have a giraffe (probably not spelt right). I mean who want to tell a friend they got owned by a giraffe.
a little off-topic but talked about already
| QUOTE | | I dont think they really like the powerfarming it does give an unfair edge sometimes to players who have more freetime or patience..... |
Not picking on anyone in particular here but I have to say this
LIFE ISN'T FAIR
A problem in general with today's society is that everyone thinks they should have an equal chance for everything. Well they don't live with it and learn. For example look at this situation:
-2 Guys work at the same place and both do quality work
-One guys is single and works 12 hours a day. He is a hard worker get all his stuff done then more.
-Another guy has a family and doesnn't have time to stay more then 8 hours a day. he gets all his work done but that is all.
-When raise and promotion time comes around should the boss give the 8 hour guy the same raise as the 12 hours guy becuase if he had more time he would have done more.
-Or maybe the boss should limit the amount of time the 12 hour guy can stay at work so the the 2 are on a level playing field
Farming is the same concept, you have more time therefore you have an advantage over the rest of the people. Why should you be punished for that.
Just my little rant because
1. I hate it when people comlain about things being unfair and
2. I like to farm when I have some free time but all the good areas keep getting nerfed.
The true test of any technology is its ability to obtain porn.
