Because GW is about the team and everything about the team has to be specific in this game. Every class must run a specific build or play a specific role. If you are using a class that either doesn't have the build that people want or does not play the role that people want or is just a class that isn't accepted by people then you will find that you are going to have a harder time finding a group. Also it depends on the demand for that specific class. For example if you are playing a non-smiting monk then you will find that your odds of getting a group are increased. if you are playing a Sin then you will find that you will be waiting more than playing.
So what can you do? if you are using an accepted class you have no choice but to conform and learn the accepted builds and advertise yourself as those. If you are not playing an accepted class then either have patience or forget about alliance battles with that character.

or, you could play with ampers where we mould our builds around what everyone wants to play.

I believe he is referring to the "No opposing party joined" message that you get. When i join (i'm Kurzick) i get that message at least 4 times, sometimes more.

I'm not certain, but I think he might have been asking why it takes so long to actually enter the battle, you know, with 20 minutes of 'No opposing party joined.'
Nice rant though Nihil, good to have you back.

It's not a rant lol. I am not upset about the fact that there is selectivity. It exists in every level of society so it's no wonder that it exists in GW. Basically i've learned to accept it and make my monk a healer when in a group and a smiter when with hench. It's just the natural order of GW and to suggest change is like spitting in the wind. it'll get messy.

i have been the same way with my monk, apart from the kryta missions with the undead and it's good to be a smiter and when i am in RA and no1 can kick me outta the group for not being a healer or boon/prot monkey
