First of all will I be able to create a Rit or Sin in nightfall, also will there be any rit/sin skills to cap in nightfall or is all that exclusive for factions. Kinda like how theres no armor/skills for a Sin or a Rit in Tyria.
Also what will nightfall do about the experianced players, because all my characters with the exception of my ranger and monk are lvl 20. Like where will they be able to come into the game, and how much of the story line will they miss?
Im pretty sure you would be able to create these classes like you could create prophs classes in factions, id assume it would just flow on into the next campaign and so on.
As for the Skills, there is apparently about 300 new skills coming and also new skills for the assassin and the ritualist, i believe there was a topic about this on here already and i will try and supply a link :)

I doubt you can make a rit or sin in nightfall(cant make one in prophecies, can ya?) Though from what I've read, there WILL be skills for rits and assassins in nightfall, so you just might be able to. I'm not 100% sure as I dont think there is a 100% awnser.
We know you cant make Factions specific Chars in Prophs, what i was saying is you can make the Core Classes like Warrior, Ele and monk and so on in Factions, so theoretically for the next realease Nightfall, surely classes like Rit and Assassin would be available to be created in Nightfall as they would become a Core Class for the next installment.
oO hope that makes sence what i was trying to say xD
You can't make a Ritualist or Assasin in Prophecies because Factions came out second...
Thats understandable, but if you cant make paragon and dervish in factions or prophecies, why should you be allowed to make rits and assassins in nightfall?
look, just because you can't make an assassin or rit in prophecies doesn't mean you can't make one in nightfall. in fact i specifically read in my november edition of PCGamer that there will be skills for assassins and rits and you will be able to create the 6 professions from phophecies as well as the 2 from factions. you can move them back and forth from tyria, to cantha, to elona. I am guessing that the storyline will be pretty much like factions. just miss the pre-island and still know a chunk of what's going down in the missions/story/etc. hopefully this clears anything up that some people still didn't pull out from the other posts before mine.
The Characters under this account are currently taking a break from Guild Wars. For the time being, I am diverting my time to Star Wars Galaxies. *don't worry i will be back when nightfall comes out*

because its the expansion that came out AFTER factions. didn't you read what kotora said above? the only reason you can't make one in prophecies is because it came out first. Like i said in my last post, you WILL be able to make one. The november edition of PCGamer is dedicated to nightfall and has 6 pages of detail about the professions, missions, quests, and the preview event with the PC Gamer Minipet/Quest code (you can only get this if you have the november edition).

So what your saying is if you own a certain chapter than those characters you have access to are core characters? It just doesnt make sense, there are 6 core classes, those are the only ones that should be able to be made in any chapter, regardless if you have others. They made assassins and ritualists for factions, so now if you have factions you can also make those factions-only characters in nightfall? Kinda defeats the purpose of factions-only....... It just doesnt seem right that chapter-specific characters will be able to be made native to the newer chapters. This is why I DONT think you will be able to. Sure they might add skills for the assassin and rit, but that doesnt mean you will be able to make one over there.

But still, think of what thats saying, rits and assassins will be able to be born in elona, but paragon and dervish willnot be able to be born in cantha. If it works one way it NEEDS to work the other way, regaurdless of which one came out first. Otherwise once they get up to 10 chapters, you will ONLY be able to create the latest profession in the latest chapter, which would be really lame because you would then have to play up to a certain point just to get that character back to the other chapters. Whereas you can create lets say a dervish starting in chapter 10 instead of 3, it allows for more skilling around and less balance if thats the way its gonna be.

it partially defeats the purpose of factions. the reason why because if you ONLY own nightfall, you can't go anywhere else. just like if you ONLY have factions, you can't travel to tyria

If memory serves me correct Anet said long ago that there would only be six core classes that would carry over from game to game. The Rits and Assassins are Factions based chars and can only be created in Factions. But like your characters from Factions can travel to Prophecies they will also be able to travel to Nightfall (if you link the games) but just not created in Nightfall. At least I'm almost 100% sure thats what Anet said. But then also they said one time that there would be no new skills for Rits and Assassins in Nightfall but they changed their minds and decided to have some new ones for them as well.
I'm neither here nor there but everywhere. I am who I am and nothing more but yet I'm nothing less than what I strive to be.

Thats partially why I said the part about if you have factions and you CAN create the rit and assassin, anet basically made them core classes. I'm fairly certain that they have stated only core classes will be able to be created in each chapter(as well as chapter-specific characters). Though I dont recall them saying no new skills in nightfall for assassins and rits, but I dont keep up-to-date very often about whats going on w/ nightfall.
Well in the words of PC Gammer "300 new skills will debut in Nightfall, which include some new abilities for the Assassin and Ritualist (introduced in Factions) and the core six professions from Prophecies."
I'm neither here nor there but everywhere. I am who I am and nothing more but yet I'm nothing less than what I strive to be.

I know, what i'm saying is I dont remember them saying NO new skills for rit and assassin in nightfall :P
Oh that was back when they said it would become too much as they add new professions to add more skills for each cause by the more new games then the number of skills they would have to add would become outlandish. I believe it was what Gaile said at one time. You'd have to seach all the posts of her chat logs but I'm pretty sure she said that, kind of like she said no auction house and now says maybe there will be. =P

i swear these same questions come up every day...do some searching on the forums...there is a handy little search button....
there WILL be new skills for Assassins and Ritualists...you will NOT be able to make a native Nightfall Assassin or Ritualist...these are not CORE professions..
i don't know why this is so hard for people to understand.
CORE PROFESSIONS: are professions that are need to balance the game. The core professions are all the ones from the original guild wars. Factions (Assassin and Ritualist) are NOT core professions but Area/Factions based.
simple.
as for level 20 characters going over, i'm sure it'll work just like factions mixed with prophocies...which kind of sucks really. i mean alot of the fun of the game is leveling up and it just seems like a huge chunk of the game is missing when you don't level up :-(
maybe they will be raising the level cap? they have said there are gonna be things not expected.
i really enjoy leveling up, while i understand that it's pointless to arbitrailally raise the cap; but to me that is a fun aspect of the game.
To clarify, you cannot create a Ritualist or Assassin in Nightfall or at least thats what Anet said. If you think about it (not being a racist =P) but a black assassin just doesn't look right.

Also, if you watch the footage here, you will notice at the character generation screen there are not slots for the Assassin or Ritualist in Nightfall.
Now of course, this is still the developers version, but it does seem true to what Anet has said previously about continuing with the 6 core classes, and having two in expansions at any given time.
At least, I think they've said that... ;-)
Edit: Its at about the 6:45 mark where they create a new character.
Thanks for clearing it up, I havnt read too much into it, but I was 99% sure you wouldnt be able to make a nightfall-native assassin or rit. Here's a link I forgot to post about core classes: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Core
As it says, core is something related to all games, even with a nightfall and factions linked accounts the assassin and rit are still not core, therefore you wouldnt be able to make them in nightfall.
