just thought i'd say that i have recived my Bonus Key for GW:NF
but on entering it to my current account with gw i get:
"you cannot add this key to this guild wars account because you will already hace the rights this key provides"
but wheres my 2 new bonus weapons??
(does any one know the commarnd to? the old one was /bonusitems (for factions))
has anyone been have prblems with the keys?(if you got yours)
also ive email play nc and the game shop ive pre-order from
ill post the responce once i get one...
(on entering /Preorder & /Bonusitems i get just the 2 faction weps)

Rest assured that the Bonus Keys are working fine. If you decided to add the key already, or if you are waiting for the game to be released or the World Preview Event to start, you will receive all Bonus Items and the character slots as soon as you add the Nightfall Retail Key.

And this means that they are not available before you add a Nightfall-code to your account. There is no problem
haha- i was just going to come on and say that it probably only works with a nightfall account and that you probably need to add the bonus keys to account when you have nightfall in there.
I was going to go get the PC Gammer mag after work today but maybe I will wait a while till I find out when they are going to get it working so maybe Ill not have to make a seperate trip.

strange but true i guess,
the thing that gets me it when i had my factions bonus key,
i entered it as soon as i got it and had the factions weps befor the pve.?
its a shame that you wont beable to use them for this pve..
Although this is being sorted, not sure if they'll fix it so you get the items now, or they're just going to alter it so you don't get the error and when Nightfall is released you'll get the items.
My only moan, is that this is a stand-alone product, purchasing it and adding it to your account should get you the bonus items without having to then purchase Nightfall too, if that was the case, then it's no better than a pre-order pack, and in the past they were always free (the price you paid was deducted from the game).
I think perhaps the Free Character slot is a Nightfall Character slot, and won't be available until you add a Nightfall key, is the reason behind the -bug?

well they don tell you much do they, just they know about it and are sorting the issue..
There still seems to be no clear answer in my mind,
What would be the point of haveing the key for these items a month befor the games release if you have to have the key for the game to get the items? but you only get the key for the game on the d.o.r 1 month later??
i still think these items are ment to be avalible for the pve and up to the release of nightfall.
This is strange, I had the same problem, but was able to have my scythe and spear on two of my characters :D, when I noticed that I couldnt have them on my other characters I was pretty scared though :\
ok i got it now, didnt see it before, but when type in your key to add it to you account it says that the key cant be added, if you look bottom RIGHT it say "add key" when you klick it it say the keys been added,
then if your login and got manage keys the weps arnt there??
if i type /preorder or bonus items i still get the factions weps..

so now if i try and enter the key its in use,
so im guessing that when either the pve stars i get the slot and the weps or when i get the key for nightfall
I don't get why they released it now, why do I want this on my shelf for a month and a half collecting dust?
I wanted the slot for this upcoming weekend since I am full. I hope this code works this weekend!
Do you realise how tough it would be trying to ship EVERY copy of the game to EVERY customer as well as bulk shop orders within a few days before the event? Madness!
This way they can trickle the copies out and people have plenty of time to buy it, no mad rush, no shops selling short.....some people have to sit drooling over it for a few weeks but in the end everyone's happy......especially ANet who sell 1 mil * $50 worth of games!!
My hands are itching to play mine as well but at least I know I have it when I need it and I don't need to fight some kid over the last copy in the shop!
I expect there'll be an update before the NPE... hopefully.
And the keys that have been added will activate. During my question to Support I said I'd ignored the warning expecting the added key to work regardless. And well, the guy said whatever happens, if I have that key on my account, I will get the items when I add a full Nightfall Key.
But, yeah, I'm still hoping it's fixed before that.

I was browsing the CD that comes with the Bonus Pack and saw this:
Pay particular attention to the:
"Your bonus items will be activated as soon as you add the Nightfall Bonus Key (included in the box) and a retail Nightfall Access Key"
Notice the and is underlined.
So if I'd read the instructions fully, I would have known I wouldn't get anything until I add the full key anyway. Perhaps the bug is that it tells you an error has occured, and it should actually say "Your items are ready and will be unlocked when you do...."?

Just to let everyone know that ArenaNet has corrected the Add New Key text and that when you type in /preorder or /bonusitems, you will receive your "Guild Wars: Nightfall" Pre-Order Pack Bonus Items - from today's update.
